I'm not used to heavy lifting.
Yesterday I was pulling my washer through the front door and slipped on an entry carpet and went down... I was able to hold up the washer to keep it from crushing my legs - but getting out from under it, then lifting it, was a struggle - - but I managed it. No damage, continued working the rest of the day. BUT....
Today, this morning, I discovered that the exertion wasn't exactly without consequence... every muscle in my body is screaming.
Trying to live normal even if things are not. I actually got away last night and attended my grandson's semi-final basketball game, (they lost)... but wow - it was great to get out and take in a game and at least for a few hours not think of the possible flood or the weeks of hard labor ahead of me.
We're going to hold off moving the big stuff back in until we see what the new water release will mean. That means that today... YIPPEE, I actually have little to do. Going to a JV baseball game at 3pm, another grandson... so today, even though I'm doing some small chores that do NOT require lifting, is basically the first day off I've had in a couple of weeks.
No TV... got my computer back and setup... house is basically empty... been thinking about setting up my drums in a third bedroom now empty of bunkbeds so lots of room. Watching my grandson's play sports is great but thinking it would be fun to sit behind my drum kit, wearing my new Beats headphones, playing music in the evenings. Fun to play, for one thing, also wearing my headphones I won't have to hear the constant "Flood Alerts" texts coming across my phone.
