Back a few years ago I went to visit my Son and his family. They lived in Florence, Or. Years before that he had been in the Coast Guard stationed at Coos Bay, Or... maybe an hour south of Florence?
We drive down to visit Coos Bay and a place called Shore Acres, one of my favorite beach spots. All clifts, rocks... and the day we were there it wasn't a ferocious storm, exactly, but it was to me... never saw anything like it. The cliffs in places are easily 100' high and higher in places and the spray was hitting us like a wave of water.
I was spellbound, and I'm not exaggerating. I couldn't look away... we stayed there all day and well into the evening/night.
