Sorry, but the no call on Goff getting facemasked was just as big of a no call as the PI. 1st and goal at the 1 with a chance to get a TD instead of a FG. I shed no tears for the Saints! I knew there would be some who can't even enjoy the win but I'm not one of them!
I'm enjoying the win but I'm also realistic enough to admit that the no PI call was the difference between the Rams and losing. That's a HUGE no-call and as much grief as I've given the Seahawks and Patriots over the years for winning that way, no way am I going to not acknowledge the Saints getting screwed.
So the Goff facemask no call that resulted in a FG didn't make a difference? Only one call made THE difference in the game?? Who's not being realistic here? Both non calls were bad. Both made a difference. Did the Rams benefit? Yep.
The non-PI would have ended the game. None of the others would have. Big difference in the timing of the calls.
Ended the game? Not if the Rams got a TD instead of a FG on the Goff play. It would have been 24-20, right? Big difference.
But the facemask call wouldn't have ended the game. A PI call when and where the Saints should have got the ball, would have.
I don't understand why Rams fans would even try to defend the horrible call and the importance of when and where it was called. It's obvious. Rams were given a give and will enjoy it but it's still a gift.
Ahhhh, sorry but you can't isolate 1 play in a vacuum...NO MATTER WHEN it takes place and say THAT play was the difference/end of story...you have to take the totality of the game and contextualize it ALL...That, or EITHER of the Delay of game non-calls changed the entire game from then on...the "play" the Saints got screwed on...and they did...NEVER even happens.
