I do evaluate media guys on their competency. Some are much better than others.
Fair enough BUT it's going to be a rare guy who pumps up a 2nd year qb who didn't live up to his numbers in the playoffs.
Give em time.
....
How about Dan Orlovsky? He was pumping up Goff big time on NFLC. I think Louis Riddick is another, I'm sure there are others. But the majority aren't. Maybe for the reasons you gave. But the good evaluator looks beyond one playoff game and are able to project based on many factors.
Orlovsky was a Ram, he knew Goff. So when others who haven't been through training camp with him hear him, they need time and distance to figure out he's not just being a homer.
I am not sure you DO look beyond 1 playoff game plus 4 other top tough games. Taken as a whole, those games do pose questions.
We think Goff and the Rams will answer those questions, but not everyone is obligated to. They can sit and wait and see what happens.

...
How would you be expected to know what I look beyond or not?
I know what I'm looking at, just as you know what you're looking at. Most likely we see different things. That's fine. That's how people come to different conclusions looking at the same thing.
It appears that you have looked closely at Goff in all his games and have a different perspective than I do. That's fine too.
What I am doing is projected based on what I saw last year in ALL his games, and processing that information with the knowledge of QBs in the past and how they have stepped up in the following year under certain conditions.
In other words, please don't tell me what I am looking at and I won't tell you what you're looking at. I think thats fair.
