You can ascribe everything you want to to Watkins. But 500+ yards is simply not going to cut it for a guy you apparently are willing to pay elite level WR money to if necessary.
However, it has been explained that the reason Watkins doesn't have pretty stats is because of Goff not targeting him and WHEN he was targeted he was effetive and that is why he led the team in TD receptions.
But his value is far beyond his stats.
It is about winning. No Watkins, no playoffs last year. He was that key, IF you watched the film. If you just watch TV games and look at box scores then you cannot see the value. Coaches know the value of Watkins which is why he will be signed
