I agree that Demote doesn't do the extension thing. So that's unlikely.
However, it's possible they may decide that it's better to stick with him another year.
He came on strong at the end of the season. He had 5.5 sacks and 14 QB pressures in the last quarter of the season.
That may be because he's healthy or now acclimated to the new D. Either way, that type of production over a full season is pretty good.
The issue I have with Longacre is he rarely creates anything. Most of his sacks were as the beneficiary of Donald flushing the QB to him.
I don't think it's clear cut anymore that he's cut or asked to reduce his salary.
