I found that intentional mentioning of how they have done a good job as coaches not just coaching him but also coaching Mannion interesting.

Last year Goff was Mannion so it seems he is possibly comparing how he was treated vs how Mannion is. If this an accurate read it sounds like he is saying he did not get the same coaching or prep as Keenum did so he wasn't ready when the call came.
