Don't know about the Baseball analogy: but Watkins changes things

August 16, 2017 03:46PM
The Rams are due for some good luck.

If they had been able to get Watkins before the last draft, they probably would have drafted very differently. Likely no Kupp and no Reynolds.

But because as far as they knew they were drafting the only playmakers that they might have for awhile, they did their homework and it appears they drafted some pretty good Receivers and a terrific young TE. I really think Kupp is going to be a star along the lines of Jordy Nelson. Ultra reliable and nifty.

Now suddenly the unexpected happens and inexplicably Watkins becomes available for exactly what the Rams have to offer.
Now the Rams are awash in young playmaking WRs and TEs and their best playermaker over the last 3 years isn't even able to participate yet.....Tavon Austin.

In one offseason the Rams MAY have transformed from having the fewest legitimate playmakers on any team in the NFL to having among the most.

Watkins is indeed that dangerous home run hitter that every team wants to have. And there's not a doubt in my mind that unless he can't physically survive it, Watkins is going to be a Ram a long time and he is going to be a sizeable difference maker.

Now Jared Goff, be a point guard and use these weapons.
