I still can't understand this. They're on the hook for over a half billion already -why not use that in San Diego - get a stardom loan from the league. I think those are like 300million. Bring on a developer / partner to cover the rest with some multi use space and build a 'modest' privately funded stadium for a about 1.2 billion. Open air, maybe 55K seats. Then you own it, and all the revenue. And you rule San Diego. For some reason being Stan's tenant was a better deal?
Nothing but unadulterated greed. Some accountant ran the numbers and saw the increase in team value with the move to LA so they jumped at it.
