To me it says that some of the coaches have never worked with McVay before and they have not mastered every detail of the offense at this point in the season. To me it does not seem unreasonable that a player might have picked up a detail that one of these new coaches missed. I see a situation where some of the coaches and most of the players are learning a new offense at the same time and I don't see anything odd about the players and coaches collaborating on this effort.
