I have no official needs that have to be met because of the signings ... Although there are some obvious spots where we could use upgrades.
I am going to do 2. One with Tru staying and one with hm traded for the 65th overall (I'm being conservative) ... that way I can do two drafts and get more players involved.
With Tru.
2) Evan Engram ... I think the Jordan Reed comp is more than accurate, and that Engram is actually a better football player. But with Howard and Njoku as the top 2 and the great depth, I don't think they will be rushing for a smaller TE unless they have a specific role in mind for him.
NO issue with Engram here. He's value and a weapon. I don't get a Jordan Reed feel from him though. Reed is one of the toughest players in the NFL, he's a dirty work master. Probably why he's so often broken. Reed only ran a 4.7 while Engram can fly. Reed is more precise and physical as a route runner/pass catcher. I think Jonnu Smith might be the closest Reed comparison.
3) Chidobwe Awuzie ... I think he's the top CB to slide into the 3rd. Almost a first round talent. Thick with surprising long speed.
this drop/value makes sense to me. I always felt Awuzie was in this range with his teammate Witherspoon (who I actually like more because he's longer and more fluid)
4) Lorenzo Jerome FS
Yep
4) Vince Beigel kid ran a 4.68. I know players like him fly under the radar, but they don't to me.
5) Fred Ross WR mister underrated ...
yep
6) Jon Toth C decent movement skills, want him a little stronger ...
7) Josh Tupuo NT with surprising movement skills
7) I'Tavius Mathers RB great burst and hands, perfect out of the backfield.
Without Tru
2) Cordrea Tankersly CB
3) Gerald Everett TE Just a tad slower than Engram, but great movement skills ... Jordan Reed again.
Again not physical. Huge upside, which I always like, but looks like a loooong term project to me
3) Derek Rivers rOLB Tru athlete and eventual replacement for Quinn.
Sure I'm wrong but I just don't see how this drop is possible. I'd be FAR less shocked with him going Top 15
4) Lorenzo Jerome FS
4) Vince Beigel OLB ...
5) Brendan Langley CB
for all the small school guys I watch, I didn't get to see him this year
6) Duke Riley LB classic underrated one year starter ...
mentioned him in another thread. Rangy LB you need in today's pass heavy/matchup NFL
7) Chase Rouiller C needs a year of strength training, but moves well.
7) ITavius Mathers RB
UDFA priorities
Ejuan Price OLB
Shalom Luani FS
Mack Hollins WR
Im fully on this bandwagon.
Brad Watson CB
Sam Cotton TE
Joey Ivie DT
