It's tough to get hyped for a football season when you feel like you know exactly what's coming year in and year out. It's like tuning in to watch the same B-movie over and over again. No matter how much you might have liked it in the beginning, it gets old and uninteresting as time goes by. Twelve years is plenty of time for the shine to wear off. If we could get to a year in which it really felt like we were at the corner and ready to make the turn, with some sense of real hope, that would be great. I think a lot of the enthusiasm for the team would come back very easily. I would be very receptive to the team shocking me and surpassing my expectations, that would be great, too. People stop by my work area almost every Monday to talk football and I steer the conversation to their team. There just isn't much to talk about with mine.
