The Rams did it frequently in the 70's with a guy like Keenum, Pat Haden.
He won a lot of games but it would always catch up to him in the playoffs where his limitations got exposed.
The Rams always had a really good OL, though.
If you take Keenum in a vacuum and place his play in ANY year from 2007 through 2014 the results (W's & L's) would be disastrous.
He is a by-product of any wins and the leading cause of all losses.
This head-in-the-sand mentality amazes me because anyone who watches football knows how this ends.
And when it does end, no matter if they make the playoffs this year or not, THEN we will hear "yeah but next year when Goff is the QB we can go all the way!!"
Good coaches understand these things before "next year" happens, and they make the switch when the switch is needed to be made.
The head in the sand mentality is interesting. Mostly its due to posters over rating their own team. It's a normal condition among most fans.
Some of these guys are just fine with holding onto mediocrity and calling it progress. They compare what we have now with the dregs of Rams teams in the past and say look how much better it is now. This is an absolute joke of a loser mentality.
Fisher is just trying to get the Rams back as a relevant team. Thats why we heard him scream out, "the Rams are back" after the win in AZ. He's not looking for a SB contender just yet. But could you imagine what this team would be if we were getting QB production like Philly and Dallas is right now? That's what's being obscured by all the head in the sand guys.
With productive to highly productive QB play this would be a top 3 team in the league and a SB favorite.
Laughable how many here greatly over-estimate what Keenum is and what he's really given them...
