Football Sundays a half-century ago, I would have lunch at the Rams Horn restaurant (owned by Don Paul) in the San Fernando Valley, then board a charter bus to the game. The bus would let me off 20 yards from entrance to the Colosseum. The price for the round trip bus fare, all the beer and popcorn you wanted, and seats on the 40 yard line, was ----$15.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's just say Akers go hurt running into stone walls during kill-the-clock time in the 4th quarter. This board would light up with criticisms of McVay for leaving the kid in. So I agree with Blinkscout----why, coach, why?by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
The Pats will crowd the scrimmage line and bring their secondary in tighter to counter the Rams' dink-and-dunk. I would like to see the Rams go for the long one several times to counter this. Just my take...by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't look now, but the Niners might be playing the best football in the division. I believe that they are now one of the 2-3 best teams in the NFL, having shaken off their early season disasters, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them again in the Super Bowl. If I am correct (and I'm sure many of my fellow posters will say I'm dead wrong) then that puts a somewhat different perspective on Sundaby troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
The NFL is seriously considering a 16-game playoff this year, depending at least in part on how many regular season games will need to be canceled because of pandemic problems. What this means for the Rams is that, even in the worst case scenario where they end up 8-8, they will most likely be in the playoffs and in a position to peak at just the right time.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
IMHO we were outplayed, even though we won the game. The Giants' defense was prepared for Goff's rollouts and screen passes, put pressure on Goff when he dropped back, and performed well against Rams runners. Their crippled offense had little trouble moving up and down the field most of the game, and only faulted when they got deep into Rams territory. This was supposed to be a gimme victory, buby troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
When I was 11 years old, it took forever to turn 12. When I was 83 the weeks and months flew by unbelievably fast and it seemed like only a very short time until I was 84. You "youngsters" reading this, enjoy your youth while you can. It sure slips away quickly.by troublefree - Bucky's Pub
Direct TV offered twelve monthly reductions to my bill, which pretty much pays for the NFL Sunday Ticket. I didn't have to haggle at all. They must be desperate to keep customers from canceling during these difficult financial times. To get right to the people who issue the discounts, I suggest you phone 1-877-9991083, which is their "loyalty support" department.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Besides the victory, which was sweet of course, what was very entertaining was the absence of yellow flags throughout the game. The officials kept out of the way either by choice or because both teams played a clean game. Boy was it fun to watch!by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
I applaud Vrabel for taking advantage of the rules. On the other hand, I believe this delaying strategy to not be fan-friendly and I think this loophole in the rules should be dealt with.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Bill Plaschke's column in today's sports section made a strong case for the Rams trading Gurley as soon as possible. It convinced me, although I do not think it will happen, at least not this year. I hope one of you will post the column. I don't know how...by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
That's my prediction for 2021 -- no NFL football. I do not believe either the players or management is in any mood to cave in. There will be no replacement players. There will be no abbreviated schedule. And most of us will find other things to do on Sundays in fall and winter.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
I am holding my nose and rooting for the 49ers. Why? It seems to me the 49ers are a lock to be in the playoffs, while the Seahawks are not. A Seahawks defeat would make it somewhat easier for the Rams to enter the playoffs. Conversely, a Seahawks win would make it much more difficult for the Rams to enter the playoffs.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com

As the season progresses, it's natural to assume that the youngsters on the offensive line and elsewhere will get better with experience. The Rams should be a better team at playoff time than they are now.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com

It seems like the game cannot proceed for more than three plays without a flag being thrown. I would like to see them eliminate ticky-tack fouls. If it ain't egregious, don't call it and let "em play. And also eliminate fouls that occur on the other side of the field that cannot possibly have affected the play.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Beginning late in the second quarter of the Rams game and lasting until game's end, there appeared to be huge numbers of empty blue seats in Carolina's stadium. I thought I was seeing things. But then, as I was watching parts of other games (I have NFL Sunday Ticket), it was the same thing -- acres of empty seats, even though the games were still competitive. You know that the opponents' focus on stopping the Rams' offense will be to put pressure on Goff. If the Rams' O-line can't protect Goff, then all of McVay's planning might go for naught.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
There would be minimum blocking as he would crash into the line. Waiting for him would be the entire defense, all the opponents' coaches, all the opponents' players from the sidelines, plus a few spectators. I would say that, in those days, the Rams' offense was somewhat predictable. Despite maximum effort, SJ would usually wind up with only a yard or two. I really felt sorry for the guy.by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Channel 2 CBS in Los Angeles is not now available on DirecTV. This situation might drag on for awhile. In a worst-case scenario, it drags on into the football season and creates a big problem for those of us living in the LA area who have DirecTV. Question: If we subscribe to the NFL Sunday Ticket, will that offer Channel 2?by troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Directv lost over 1 million subscribers last year, so it's difficult for them to afford a heftly raise in subscriber fees demanded by CBS Channel 2 in Los Angeles. They take the position that, in this era of streaming services, why should they pay more for Channel 2 content that people are watching less and less. CBS, on the other hand, says that Directv is paying the same fee as in 2012, so a heby troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
Player salaries are soaring. Ticket prices have reached a point where most middle-class people can no longer afford to attend a game. I made my annual call to what is now called the "Loyalty Support" department of Direct TV, asking for a discount on Sunday Ticket. Since ATT took over the company I have found them less anxious to lower the price. The best I could do was a $60 discount ($5 month for 12 months). Several of my fellow posters say that they don't like the rule change because it isn't perfect. But hey, it's an improvement on the existing NFL revue rules and for that I am pleased. If it was up to me I would include revues of roughing the passer, hits on defensive players, and illegal head-first hits. I would also limit the coaches to only one challenge per half to address the concern that moby troublefree - RamsFootballFans.com
After one Rams offensive play in the Super Bowl, coach McVay knew that New England was employing the same defense that the Bears used. This according to an article in Monday’s RamsWire online.
