This draft brings a ton of options. And the Rams need for speed outside the hash on both sides of the ball must be addressed this offseason. First off of course comes FA, and what they do will largely come down to who hits the market. There are some nice wideouts poised to hit it though. Evans in particular I am a huge fan of though I think it's unlikely they spend more on wideout when theyby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The 30 yarder or whatever. That was one of the top plays of the game that enabled the win. If he doesn't get open there, or flubs the catch, we might well lose that game. So yeah I think we can expect to see a lot more of him in the coming weeks. And I hope he makes the most of his opportunity, because this WR group will have more talent added this offseason so this is his moment.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills but I expect him to be more consistent yes... I am surprised that you don't as I read you regularly I will admit I thought they were dead after Stafford went down...and it's nice to see them win 3 in a row But this team has played in 5 SBs and won 2 We have been to the mountain top... Quote21Dog Quotemerlin I think he is going to get more looks. Nothing against Tutu but he just disappears too much. He made some plays but Robinson needs to be out there more. Disappears or made to disappear? I think Tutu has a lot more to offer if given more opportunities. Made to disappear by whom. That makes zero sense. QuoteSpeed_Kills when you are 11-18 over the last two seasons you have to show you are one of the best coaches in football to be considered one And you are welcome to your opinion. But if you look at this year's roster and expect them to run the table you lack perspective. This team is in the playoff hunt because of the quality of our staff and the buy-in of players who outwork rosters whoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
And fully agree. All coaches have things that deserve criticism. But it's amazing how quickly a fan base can transition from destitute to taking one of the finest head coaches in this league for granted. I read things from fans, comments that just make me shake my head in regard to how incapable they are of keeping perspective. QuoteRamsDynasty Is bringing to the table, he seems more threatening than the ironic Skoronek. He picked up some slack when Puka was out and Cooper is still dinged up. He gave the offense options in a very physical playoff type game. Smooth in and out of breaks. Situation wasn't too big for him. I think he is going to get more looks. Nothing against Tutu but he just disappears too much.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
When your roster is short but you have top coaching across the board. This is not to say all the staff are great, but overall you can see the quality of the coaching and scheme and the players are fully bought-in. That's a powerful combination.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Browns gameplan will be physicality on both sides of the ball. Beating Jackson will also be something they are counting on. So I think him having a good game is important in this one, and overall on both sides they need to be ready to perform in the ground game. If that happens it is unlikely Cleveland will be able to overcome the Rams having the better QB.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Our secondary is decent when you consider the lack of rush. Rams are 11th in Passer Rating against, and 13th in passing yards allowed, while being 26th in pressure percentage and hurries per snap. So if Joe Flacco doesn't have that run game... He's unlikely to have a good day.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I am of the mind that they made the right decision. Corbs isn't exactly making things better for Carolina.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is Detroit. That offense is loaded with quality pieces but the QB is iffy if you can move him off his spot. And their defense is suspect. Rams could potentially play keepaway with them by sustaining drives. Also I like how this year's team played SF earlier this year. I don't think SF would be a slam dunk if we were to get into the playoffs and draw them immediately. In fact the Rams woulby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 Yeah, they will have lots of options to further upgrade the OL in 2024 while having good pieces in place. I am sort of skeptical the Rams will match what Dotson might command in free agency. Maybe I'm wrong. Would love to keep him and if it can be for $8M/year or less I am all for it. Jackson could shift to RG, true. Or maybe he's the swing backup at OT. That would be an 'upgraby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 At the same time, I also don't consider Shelton a liability by any means. Can they upgrade from him? Or at least plan for an heir apparent past 2024? Sure. But I don't see center as a position to panic about either. Continuity on an OL matters and I'd be fine with him back starting in 2024. Which one makes for a stronger OL: Option 1 - ROOKIE / Avila / Shelton / Dotson (FA)by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's got great protection. So yeah I agree we need to upgrade from him. I don't dislike Shelton but a good young center is on my list for sure.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
But yes I do think we can win it if the OL can handle its business because that Browns offense will need short fields to put points on us. Baltimore on the other hand... Ugh. Our run will need to happen after that Ravens game I think. But I would love to be wrong on that.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Are the old power teams. The teams that dominated in the late 70s to 80s in particular. Pittsburgh, Dallas, SF in particular who had younger fans at the time jumping on their bandwagon and who are working professionals now. Browns never had that power window at the right distance back in time, so thus they don't travel well. Rams fans should be well represented in this game as a result I thby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Have a run check to go right at him power/duo and make him tackle with that shoulder. Nullifies his rush a bit and will take the energy out of him. Any time you want to run make that call and mash him.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They're the kind of unit that gives us problems. I think this is a pretty close game due to QB, but ours is going to be harrassed badly I am afraid. So idk. Not confident but I do think it is winnable.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams will be looking hard to find an upgrade for him this offseason. I think there's a real good chance they draft another wideout in the first few rounds. Hopefully after they take a LT. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Anybody who watches that game and comes away thinking Allen is a problem... :confusedby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
So yeah if he can't go that's dodging a serious bullet and makes things a lot easier. Though that said I still think it'll be tough to get points vs them. Just won't be as much a nightmare.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
1. Aggressive in FA. If it is possible to get an LT then do it. Otherwise go get another cornerstone spot not named QB. I like the Bears CB personally, but we might be able to find an edge we'll see. Also I'd try to add an interior OL via FA as well, doesn't have to be a top guy. Even just decent depth type is fine. 2. Go get the LT in the draft. This frees up Jackson for OG which precluby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Statistically you don't have a realistic chance at the title if you're starting a rookie QB. Chances are you're gonna come up short. So if you draft one you still need a bridge QB. Which Stafford would be great at, because he can hold it down while the kid comes up to speed in 2024. But from the perspective of resources, it would hurt to use a first round pick on a QB3 when that might be aby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Would an elite type of LOT still be there? Or Edge, WR or CB? I dunno… And would the long term positive impact be as great as hitting on a QB? Again, I dunno (but I seriously doubt it). What I DO know is that a good QB is absolutely essential for any team hoping for a deep playoff run. And I’m pretty sure that Stafford is in decline so we’re gonna need that QB heir apparenby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He finally puts together a top season in his FA year. Isn't that an interesting coincidence. Very worrisome. I am not against us signing him, meaning if they do sign him I'll get behind it like I did with Boom. But we already have one guy drawing a check with his feet up.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Question is how those guys go off of course. But all things equal I fully agree with this. It is time to put a little draft capital into that OL and the best spot to do that is LT. No position affects the mentality of the QB more than LT. Just get it done. If no LT is there, then a good pass game weapon or stud for the defensive front should be. But I am hoping one of those dancing bearby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Basically it means we're going to run the ball a lot better with him and Freeman. Cards are going to need to play the run. Plus the offense gets Kupp back. He hasn't been himself since his return but some of that could be rust. This would be a good week for him to be felt out there once again. Sucks to lose Lake but we get Durant back. Anyway the key on defense is going to be contain wiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is that the competition will keep these guys at their best. Durant for example is now probably slated to play in the slot since Lake is out, but if Lake can continue what he's been doing then you have 3x corners for two spots. Which in turn will push Spoon. Going forward I want to see Durant & Kendrick in those outside spots. Then hopefully at some point Tomlinson pushes enough to let tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
