I've watched nearly every snap during his time at bama. Agree with your assessment about his short/middle accuracy. I also doubt he could adequately read NFL defenses. What he can do very well, however, is throw deep with some accuracy, use his legs to destroy containment, and be a team leader. I don't see him as 'the guy' to QB a team to a championship. Alyo - The work you and Dead put into the draft every year is fantastic. Sincerely appreciated! Two questions: 1) Every year it seems McSnead "attack" a position group with multiple picks. Last year it was DL. Do you see a scenario where they trade back out of first round to accumulate picks? If so, what position group would they attack (CB, WR, other)? I've watched nearly every snap of Milroe's career at Bama. My amateur take - He's an outstanding human being and would be great in a locker room - Elite physical attributes (big arm, superior running ability) - Simply can't read defenses or consistently make accurate short/medium throws, especially with tight windows - He'd be amazingly effective in a roll similar to Taysom Hillby BamRam - RamsFootballFans.com

I'd really like to see McVay focus his strategy on gassing the Eagles front 7. Outside zone, sweeps, screens. Make them run sideline to sideline, over and over. After each play get right up to LOS and don't give the D-Line a chance to sub. When they look gassed, hit em with traps, counters, bootlegs. Do this for 3 quarters and their pass rush and tackling will disappear.by BamRam - RamsFootballFans.com

Wonder if Rams could pry Trevor Lawrence away from the Jags. With a year or two under McVay, think he'd be perfect heir apparent to Stafford. Need to give a proper shout out to Rams run defense which has been terrific on 3rd/4th down and short! I know the analytics say offenses should go for it on 4th down and 1 yd to go, but it's a low percentage play to run between the tackles against our D. Speights, in particular, has been outstanding. He seems to always get to the correct gap and hit the RB with authority. I still have nightmby BamRam - RamsFootballFans.com

The one thing on D nobody has been talking about. TACKLING During preseason our D was noticeably better at tackling than in recent years. Obviously, a point of emphasis by the D staff. This is almost exactly the checklist of adjustments I wanted to see coming out of the bye. The other two items on my checklist were throws down the seam, and DBs aggressively playing receivers rather than covering turf. I was tremendously disappointed to see none of these adjustments last week. Believe everyone agrees that the offense is not performing well in any phase. But you're ignoring context. Part of the reason the offense isn't scoring is because they don't have the ball. There is most definitely an issue with the defense consistently giving up long drives and not getting turnovers. This translates into fewer opportunities for the offense to score. This is what I was looking for coming out of the bye week. Less interested in win/lose at GB but wanted to see evidence that the coaches had self scouted and made adjustments. I've had many of the same observations. But I don't see it as a need to evolve, IMO McVay needs to grow up... in a head coaching sense. The great head coaches, no matter the level, understand that there are many ways to win games (field position game, shoot out game, high risk, low risk, and every variation in between). Agree. Post injuries I'd cringe at the angles he'd take. Really believe his brain was processing angles based on pre injuries. But his legs just didn't have the lateral agility or explosiveness to get him to the tackle point. He may never regain that pre injury ability again. I've watched every game this kid played at Bama. If he drops to the Rams they should run to the podium. His attributes go far beyond his measurables. He will instantly be the heir to Whitworth as leader of the OL. He's a smart, likeable, warrior with an innate ability to build comradery amongst his team mates, especially on the OLine. To my eyes, the biggest drop off from Whit to Boom last year was run blocking. Whit is still an exceptional run blocker. Boom... not so much. Often takes bad angles or simply misses his blocking assignment. Going forward, I'm personally not excited about Boom as the long-term LOT.by BamRam - RamsFootballFans.com

Frankly, I'm bored with all the articles and posts comparing Goff and Stafford. They are meaningless. IMO, two trades occurred but packaged as a single deal. The first trade was to unload Goff and his huge contract to the Lions. Really tough question with no right or wrong answer. O: Faulk. It was his all around performance. Running, receiving, blocking (KW wouldn't be alive today without Faulk). D: Deacon. Again, all around performance.
