When you are having a tough game, turn to the league MVP to get it done!by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Not sure that this statement is provable. Why could a player not become more 'clutch' as they go through their careers, especially as they move from rookie year to becoming a veteran? I guess you could say that it is an attitude or a natural inclination, but that is an opinion. My personal opinion is that as a player gains experience, they could become more comfortable in late-game situationby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Whitworth has been a huge upgrade and a great leader for the line. But best ever? I would put Marshall Faulk closer to the top of that list, and Aeneas Williams made a huge impact turning around the Rams D from 2000 to 2001. But a GREAT FA pickup, I would definitely agree with that.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
First - Is he still being treated like a WR1 and attracting the attention of the top corner by teams who work this way? And if so, is his presence benefiting the other receivers and the O as a whole in ways beyond his statistical production? Second - Why is his production as low as it is? I think most of us thought, with the way the Goff is playing, that Watkins would be a monster in this ofby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I should have supported you in that thread. I understand what you are saying> There is just a different mindset when you know you are probably not kicking a FG and it can be good for the offense. I don't think either of us thinks that this is good for the team - just that some positives can come out of it.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
and could not find an adequate replacement. So they pretty much just gave up kicking and played 4 down football all the time once they got past punting territory. As I recall, they scored a TON of points and were really a terror to play against. Does anyone remember who this was? Losing GZ hurts, don't get me wrong, but this team is good at picking up first downs and I could see a situaby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
We will have to deal with this as every other team has. And I think we will. But a hurt kicker is kind of unusual in that you don't normally have a backup already on the roster. Wouldn't be surprised if Hekker is practicing up on his place kicking as well, at least for kickoffs. And you are absolutely right we need to be working RZ offense this week so that we don't need field goals toby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
LIne him up as a fullback on first and goal, fake the run while the defense is distracted about AD playing offense, then pass for the TD.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
TDs in each of the last three weeks, 49, 49 and 186 yards. And available in most leagues. I don't trust any of the Rams receivers in fantasy - Goff just distributes the ball to well, which is great for football but bad for fantasy football.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Prior to getting Jimmy G, they played quite a bit of good football but couldn't put a complete game together. Admittedly, it was early in the season before the players starting getting the hang of Wade's D, but we nearly lost to them once this year. I don't think the Niners will be an easy out. What I would love to see is Watkins making another awesome catch like in the first game.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Ok, what have we learned about our Rams so far? It's not an illusion, they are very good. In all three phases of the game.. McVay has been an inspired play caller for the most part, and unlike recent years, when the ball is snapped I don't think you really have any idea what he is planning to do. One minor quibble on the playcalling is sometimes getting "cutesie" in certain siby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
The numbers are very similar to 1999. I think the GSOT Rams got more style points - big splashy plays. Whereas this team picks up first downs and scores on Todd Gurley runs, which is great, but not as flashy. the GSOT team felt like every single play was a potential home run - this team hits more singles and doubles.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Can't help but smile watching this one.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
If you are playing a team with an average or worse returner and its early in the game, kick it short and try to get the longer field for them to cover. Later in the game, especially if you are protecting a lead, kick it through the end zone to prevent any chance of a momentum changing return. Or always do it against a team with good ST and a good returner. I don't think there is an 'all-by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
First, I wouldn't shop in New Jersey but that is just me. Second, I think you should go with Ricky Proehl, the least appreciated member of the Warner Brothers receiving crew. Proehl was all professional, did his job, and you'd be surprised if you went back and looked at the film, how often Warner went his way on 3rd Down and Proehl always made the catch and was never short of the chains.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't want to get over-optimistic, but this is one of the best coaching moves I have seen ever and gives me reason to hope we have stolen the NFL's next star coach from under the NFL's eyes. Of course I am talking about the timeout McVay took on defense, midway through the 3rd quarter or so, right after an almost-fight happened on the field. I have no idea what he said, but I am guessing itby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I would like another one of those. Love the blowout, really don't want to see an unfortunate injury,by PeoriaRa - Game Time Forum
Gotta give them credit - still making noise down 20+. I say keep pouring it on until they quiet down.by PeoriaRa - Game Time Forum
I don't hate going for it, but I would have taken the 3 and made it a 3 score game.by PeoriaRa - Game Time Forum
You could make an argument for Gurley. We have won nearly 100% of games in which he played well and got a lot of touches this year.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I was listening to a Malcolm Gladwell podcast and he discussed a theory or framework he called strong link/ weak link. Essentially, what he said is that study proved that for a soccer team, the team gets more improvement from improving the weakest members of a team than they do from adding on superstar. Because of the flow of soccer games, it is rare for one transcendent player to make a scorby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
He has made some really nice blocks on long Todd Gurley plays, which to me is always a sign of a WR that is both humble and professional at what they do. I too am waiting for him to take off - can you imagine what adding an AJ Green level receiver to this offense would do? I suspect in this offense we will see Goff distributing the ball to multiple receivers as he has most of this year. Waby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams, one year out of being 4-12, were up in the 4th quarter against the consensus best team in the league and after having come back from a 14 point deficit. As far as I am concerned, they belong at the big boy table just as much as any team in the league. In addition to missing those plays you mentioned, they made numerous great plays against a talented Philly team. And they have madeby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
