I've seen some threads on this site and others downplaying the importance and priority of the ILB position based on snap counts and usage in our defense. This for the most part is a false narrative. According a recognized stat site, micah Kiser and Troy Reeder who teamed up to man the MLB position were on the field for 95% of all defensive snaps. Kiser played exclusively the first half of seby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
No it isn’t. And the gap in talent is very tangible and real. The highest drafted player we have is Kiser who was a 5th. I forget where Kenny Young was picked but he sucks and should be cut. It’s time to invest a little bit in that position group. The fact that there is a faction of posters who are so resistant to it amazes me.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Well said and logical. Thank you.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Tell that poor strategy nonsense to the Bucs (devin White) the Colts (Darrius Leonard) the Steelers (Devin Bush) the Ravens (Patrick Queen) the Chargers (Kenneth Murray) etc. Etc. All first or second picks which turned out perfect for there position.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Desilva is spot on in analysis. All four ILB could be starters or candidates to be cut. This statement is 100% true and 100% not good. Not one standout among them. We as a fan base should want better. Also that position will have good value at 57 and would not be a reach.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Love your post. I think we could get Mcgrone with one of our thirds. Also like Jamin Davis at 57.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I have quibbles with your quibbles. ILB is by far the weakest unit on the defense if not the team. Its full of question marks and mid to low end talent. I dont mind Minerez or Humphry at 57 but i feel ILB must be one of the first three picks. Any edge picked there wont sniff the field. We picked Lewis last year early for a reason, let him prove it.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
If they dont trust Coop's knees then they must move off now while value is still high. Dont believe they can bring in a quality vet and still keep him.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Totally agree. Maybe get a burner in 6th or 7th. We may already have the guy on the back of roster or practice squad. Tyler Vaughns from USC might not even be drafted.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I dont think Radunz is a sure thing prospect at all. Is he better than Noteboom or Evans now or in two years, maybe idk. I would like Quinn Minerez better if going small school. Its really not a great class for OT's. I like Radunz but would not play much this year as the roster stands right now.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I just dont get the "we can get by" attitude at ILB. Im sick of picking special teams linebackers and hope that they maybe can contribute. If we pick the right guy, Cox or Mcgrone or Moses they could be three down guys you hate to take off the field. The best edge guy i think we could get at 57 is probably Joe Tryon. But from the film ive seen , from 2019 no less, he is no where as exby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com

Moses is ok but injury history? ACL year before and Alabama super team factor. Too many good players to really get a good read on stand out abilities. I like Jabril Cox and Cam Mcgrone better. Moses in the third is good value.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Ive ran a few drafts on the various sims and have grabbed chuba hubbard around the 4th or 5th. I know we dont have a 5th but i traded and got some extra picks.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I really like Cam Mcgrone as well, maybe better. But would be happy with either Cox, Mcgrone, or Moses.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Four edges and not one inside linebacker? Smhby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I dont see anyone at edge at 57 better than hollins, Obo, Floyd and yes i believe we keep him, he is more important than JJ if we have to choose. Even Ebukam might be back cheap. But Cox, Mcgrone and Moses are all better than what we got at ilb. Side to side coverage at mlb is hugely important to a defense. And frankly your dismissive attitude towards it kind of irritates me. I got so flusteredby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
The thought of just making do at the ILB position makes my stomach churn. We have invested heavily in draft capitol at the edge, Db, and wr positions the last three years and have ignored the middle of our Defense. At 57 I would like Cox or Mcgrone or maybe a little higher in the 2nd get Bolton if he slips. In the third I like the centers Minerez or Myers. Best edge available after that.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I just dont think the drop off from 2nd to 3rd round IOLs is that steep. But ILB is another story. If we could get a Mcgrone or Cox then we should do it. I do love that div III center Minerez from Senior Bowl. He is another Tom Newberry.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Early on in the process I really like Zaven Collins out of Tulsa. Dude is just beastly. 260 but not slow, heatseeker and can drop in coverage. Next I've seen Cameron Mcgrone mentioned around here. Lastly my darkhorse favorite Merlin Robertson out of ASU. 6'3" 250 but still plays rangey. He did a number on my Trojans and was all over the place. Plus I think he will be around for our comp pickby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
We have buttressed those positions the last three years. Its time to elavate the capable or average position now. If you have watched the games closely, and i know we all do or else we would not be posting, the IBL play was up and down at best #1 defense or not. And if we are honest the #1 denfense tag was skewed a bit due to several reasons. Definitely top 10 but also room to improve. I dont calby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
I've always been a mlb guy since Hacksaw Reynolds, Carl Ekern, Jim Collins and even Fred Strickland. A great ILB can be a drive stopper, series ender. Just by geography alone he is on average closest to any offensive play left to right, front to back. The gap between our guys and dudes like Fred Warner, Bobby Wagner, Darius Leonard, Edmonds in Buffalo and Devin White is shocking. Warner absolutelby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Contract plus overall modern nfl skill set, yes. Right now going forward who would you rather have? For me its easy. I know Darnold has been rocky but thats what makes him getable. He is unknown and the Jets were not a fair assesment. I know what Goff is and i dont want it anymore.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff wouldn't be going to the Jets, they would not want him. I think you are way overvaluing Goff right now. The contract plus recent production screams mid round pick to get him off our hands. Darnold and Goff would have to be seperate deals. I would look to Indy and they probably do well with him.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for the nice reception. As for Kupp, he has been injured several times now at critical times. I fear it may be a story that will continue to play out. Also Jefferson is kind of redundant to Cooper skills wise but cheaper right now. You gotta give up something to get something and I think Kupp is still attractive right now but may not stay that way.by Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
Hi, new member but long time lurker. Here is my opinion on Goff and possible plans going forth. First off I have not been super critical of Jared until this year. But it is painfully obvious thatHe is what he is going all the way back to Cal, that is a statue that winds up like a grandfather clock to get his passes off. That paired with small hands and below average pocket awareness Is not a chamby Ramdemic - RamsFootballFans.com
