I doubt we see Thomas or Ayers back. The first defensive player I think they'll bring in is a safety. That could happen if and when they cut the WRs down to 6. Last year I believe they only went with 8 DL too.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, I think Marquez was kept until Cooper and Spruce are 100%. All three play the same position so it makes sense to me.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 I don't see any errors there, Florida. But it's definitely "fluid", huh? Not gonna roll with 3 safeties, I'm sure. Whitner? Somebody else? Once Marquez, Spruce, and Cooper are healthy, I think Quick is a goner. Question. I wonder if the IR's on G Reynolds and D Williams are of the season ending variety? Or of the "return" variety? Here is my prediction of what's going down soon. These are not all my personal choices, it's what I think Fisher will ultimately go with. OFFENSE QB (3) – Keenum, Mannion, Goff (notice where his name is) OL (9) – GRob, Saffold, Barnes, Brown, Havenstein, Wichman, Reynolds, Rhaney, Battle RB (4) – Gurley, Cunningham, Brown, Reynolds TE (4) – Kendricks, Higbee, Harkey, Hemingway WR (6)by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah maybe they call 'em as they see 'em but I think Speed's point is that maybe too often the way they see 'em is with rose colored glasses. And if that's not his point, I'll raise it because it's a damn good point.by dzrams - Game Time Forum
It's already largely decided. The only thing that can change is if someone has a monster game that tips the scales in their favor. But I don't expect the results of this game to impact much.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBlue and Gold So, unless they have something in mind that is more than a gimmick, keep him inside, maybe pair him with Easley in nickel inside. Yeah I'm eagerly anticipating this combo. I look forward to our nickel package where we rush Quinn, Donald, Easley, and Hayes/Longacre.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
I accept your explanation of analysis being inferences drawn from evidence. I simply said yours failed because you stated a strong conclusion – i.e. Austin’s production didn’t help the offense - without providing much evidence. It is not good analysis to look at the results of something and conclude that one of the variables did not help without analyzing other important variables. Inferencesby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSuh-weet! QuoteRampage2K- Watching m&m this morning and schefter was on and mentioned Case Keenum as possible target for Vikes to go after.... Doubt it would ever happen, but if they're throwing next years number one at us I'm taking that call. #1. Keenum is currently the Rams' best QB. And not only because Fisher has designated the #1 guy. As a performer he actually IS the #1 guy.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
The problem with your analysis is it can’t be proven since we don’t live in a parallel universe. There are too many variables that determine how effectively an offense functions. Coaching/scheme, QB play, OL performance, WR and RB performance, defenses played against, etc. All of those variable change from year to year. So it’s impossible to say with any certainty or credibility that Austin dby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRFL QuotedzramsIMO, it is incorrect to say that praising the rushing yards is an attempt to justify Austin as a WR when their original intent was that he would be a multi-purpose weapon, not just a WR. They talked about him as a RB starting the moment they picked him. OK. I'll grant that. I think that fits with my memories of the thing. There is a huge difference between not talking bad about a player and offering unsolicited and enthusiastic praise stating that you think a player would have helped you make the playoffs. He wasn’t starting because maybe they didn’t realize how good of a fit he would be in the Fisher offense. I’m sure him going 3-2 to end the season was an eye opener for them. QuoteLARams17 That's my opinion. Of course it's not a fact. But neither is Keenum would have taken us to the playoffs last year. Both are opinions. BUT look at what our front office did. Mortgaged the future for a QB. Ask yourself, would they have done that if they thought Keenum was the guy to take them to the playoffs? So just to make sure I understand you, what you’re saying is, you value traditional WR qualities such as getting yards and moving the chains? You’re not nearly as interested in an all-around threat who scores TDs but may lack some of the traditional qualities. If so, I can see your perspective. I want that traditional #1 WR too. But I also value a guy who scores 10 TDs in a season and scaresby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
On a personal level I agree with this. But from what I can tell, I don’t think the Rams agree with this. As it is, they seem to be the ones pigeonholing the guys judging by where and when they are playing them. If they play a guy out of the slot 90+% of the time, that means they see him as a slot WR. And we also know that Groh favors the bigger wideouts. Thus, it seems unlikely that they willby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

Quote9er8er Quote"There’s no receiver that comes close to his rushing yards," Rams general manager Les Snead said. That's because no other team has tried harder to justify trading up to #8 to take a WR that they can't throw the ball to and actually get that value out of as a WR. Quoteleafnose btw, I've seen no mention of ailments to Mo Alexander. I don’t think there is anything wrong with Mo. IMO, he’s just simply not a FS. He could be a darn good SS in the scheme and take the role that Barron had previously as a hybrid LB/S. But as the deep guy, I just don’t see it. I don't disagree that some of those drops were tough spots but they were drops nonetheless. I counted four: Duke Williams in the 1st half - an egregious drop that killed the drive. Malcolm Brown 1st half – It may have been tough for him to hold onto the ball b/c he was in position to get lit up and he did. However, he dropped the ball before he got hit. At least partially correct. I did see the word mostly but I also read it to be talking about the Denver game not the preseason to date. I stand corrected.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
If they go with your five, what do they do if Britt gets injured? They have no one else to play wideout. They would have three guys who solely play in the slot.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

Quote9er8er Goff was playing mostly with the two's against the other team's two's. Goff did not play mostly against Denver's two's. He played four series; two in the 1st half, two in the 2nd. QuoteSpeed_Kills Quotemax I thought Goff made some nice throws, and we all know about the drop epidemic, his supporting cast last night was awful but he needs to see things quicker. If Fisher thinks he’s not ready to protect himself, you don’t play him yet. Period. How many games you are winning this year are all secondary to that. QuoteLARams17 There's only so much one can learn with a clipboard in your hand. Maybe the things Fisher wants him to learn are the things that you CAN learn with clipboard in hand. Have you ever thought of that?by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
He’ll learn some of that by playing. Some of it he can learn in practice, watching film, and studying the playbook. Recognizing defenses and blitzes, getting used to the speed of the game, and developing good judgment in things like getting rid of the ball comes from playing. But knowing audibles, communicating play calls, and hot reads are things that don’t require live reps to learn. Inby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
