Taught me how to take a vacation from my problems. lol. But seriously, I love the way this coaching staff is communicating about players. I'm sure there's SOME coachspeak in there, but for the most part, it sounds pretty up front. Neither phony temper tantrums to try to scare players into performing, nor effusive praise to try to butter them up. Just honest assessments with a positiveby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

You were doing great until you mixed that metaphor. Ah, I remember reading about the old west..sharks swimming peacefully down the Oregon trail, until an attack by hostiles. That's when the sharks would circle the wagons! Unless...did you do that on purpose?by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
nearly every other team will be reluctant to give him as well. I think the list of willing trade partners is probably tiny, if not nonexistent, unless the Rams hold a huge fire sale. At this point, I'm getting a little annoyed. Trading him now, with the result that he gets what he wants, and the Rams get bupkus, would be rewarding bad behavior, imo. Let him sit then, if that's whatby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

At the time that was said, there was no Sammy Watkins, so X that one out. Kupp, Reynolds, Everett are all still rookies. They've done nothing yet. Nothing. (But Kupp and Everett are looking good in preseason. Reynolds has a PS TD.) Woods is solid. Higbee 8-) But if you go to the 43 school of projection, then the Rams obviously have weapons galore! :)by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
And it is complimentary about McVay. So if that's what someone is focusing on, that's there. Reading what's said about Goff...doesn't leave a lot of hope for those who would LIKE to think he's a good prospect. I'll support what I'm saying with quotes from the article: "The problems with his game evident during his time at Cal—most notably his severe timing and accuracy issues—showeby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe Martz had eaten some bad fish. And the comment "excuse me while I puke" was literal, and not a comment about McVay. LOL Seriously, I know a lot of people are saying he's just a nut. And I mostly agree with that. But these are tidbits to hype a book. I wonder if Mike is ok. I wonder if he was in pain or something. I get really grumpy when I'm in pain. I was using it in the more generic sense, as in "i'm no fan of sushi". Not commenting on whether he should be disqualified because he's not a Ram fan or Goff fan. What I should have said was "This guy's evaluation of Goff is negative going all the way back to Goff's college career. Very negative". He isn't just basing his disdain on Goff's rookie NFL season. I want to read different viewpoints, so I appreciate this being posted. But Doug Farrar is obviously NO fan of Jared Goff in any way, shape, or form. In his opinion, Goff had terrible accuracy and timing issues AT CAL. The article isn't "Now with McVay, Goff's natural talent has a chance to show through". It's "With McVay, there's a tiny keyhole of a chance that the inaby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

So he wants to tell us what he saw, as a caution. A caution - that there is still a lot of work ahead for McVay and Goff. I didn't necessarily see what laram saw, but he knows what to look for a lot better than I do. I have no problem admitting that. I'm sure that when he sees even more progress from Goff, that he'll point that out, too. Meh, anyway, laram can defend himself. He doesnby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I appreciate the post. Even though I'm a known Goff guy, I just want the truth, as you see it. That being said, the real question that entered my mind when I read your post was not about Goff, it was about Davis. Was/is Austin Davis actually at his hard ceiling? Did his meltdown with the Rams have to be the way that it was? Could a Sean McVay have helped Davis extend his limitations anby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
that whole "they game planned, we didn't" excuse was used in the past by either the Fisher Rams or fans defending them to explain why some preseason game went the way that it did. No way to be sure, unless the teams confirm it, but if Keyshawn isn't willing to give Goff credit for at least that one game, and the way he played... oh well. Based on admittedly brief, but startling evidence, if McVay can take Goff from what we saw last preseason to what we see this preseason, doesn't that make one wonder if maybe he can do a similar makeover with Austin? I want TA to get healthy and see how McVay can teach him and use him, before running TA out of here. There are only so many touches to go around now, though. And so many plaby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
but also by those NOT willing to pay. If everyone was willing to pay at least $15 for a movie ticket, and everyone wanted to go to the movies, the price wouldn't stay at $15 for very long. It would go up. Just because one team is willing to pay X for a DT does not mean every other team must and should agree to pay that amount as well. It's not "yahoo!" yet, because of the admonition that this IS preseason. But at the same time, it's so much nicer to be saying to each other, "don't get too excited, this is only preseason", rather than "don't get too upset, this is just preseason".
