"Sean McVay says he’s “Absolutely not” concerned about the Rams season spiraling after losing three straight." I don't know if that's accurate... BUT.. if it is... doesn't that perfectly demonstrate what a lot of us are saying is McVay's main problem? If that quote is accurate it does NOTHING to inspire confidence in me... in fact it's the exact opposite. It terrifies me. Thisby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
One thing I believe to be absolutely true... I'd even use the word 'fact'... is that the loss of both Woods and Akers has completely changed the character of this team. In the same way that losing Woods has crippled McVay recently I think losing Akers before game one was nearly as debilitating, despite the good W/L start.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
what you mostly blame Stafford for, (and sure, I admit you may be right), I blame McVay for... especially after the loss of Woods. I do, however, 100% agree with bringing Perkins onboard as #2. I think Perkins would look HORRIBLE if he had to replace Stafford at this time BUT... I think he may a prospect that can actually be NFL caliber. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Which, most likely, is what you would expect a QB to say. BTW, this according to Jourdan. I'm completely up in the air... could be, might not be... I really don't lean either direction. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know. :laughing i do know that I'm coming to believe that coaches can't handle more than one job, with rare exceptions.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
even though I also made that reference in the Game Time Forum... saying McVay treats ST's like Prothro treated using all 4 downs. :laughing But the truth is... McVay is vastly greater than Prothro. I'm painting myself into a corner here by criticizing McVay, which I think he deserves and in fact is the #1 reason for our woes... BUT... I stop FAR short of thinking he's a bad HC. playing like he was lost instead of playing like he was still there.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
but with sympathy, Todd. I don't give a flying rat's ass about the Lakers but yeah... sure seems the Ram's are headed nowhere. I gotta believe that 3 losses like these last 3, after all the accolades, HAS to shake up the coaches as well as the players, no? I mean, I think it's too late this year... but I think a turn around could start once they come to honest grips with the fact that theyby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
but I don't think that particular play call was 'desperation'... could have been, maybe, I admit... but I think it was more that it was what McVay thought of as 'bold'.... without consideration for game situation... just a terrible plea for being recognized as being 'bold'.... I don't think it was desperation. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
read the game time forum. I'm NOT saying OBJ took over the game.. I'm saying he was the 'focus'.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
although I am VERY down on McVay right now. But board debates tend to always go this direction... extremes... absolute failure or HOF success. Mostly likely I'll be put in the "You think McVay is the worst coach ever" category.. which couldn't be further from the truth. Makes it hard to critique.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
and apparently I don't because I believe this next to be true... The Rams play their absolute WORST against subs. Be it a QB, RB, WR, CB, LB, DL... doesn't matter... put in a sub against us and he'll play like an HOF'r.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
if so, you are massively off base.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
but yes, I do think being 'hurt' covers all the bases for what we're seeing. Even there, however, I can find fault in McVay.... I don't think he's coaching, play calling, with the injuries in mind... I think he's play calling in spite of the injuries, (if it is injury). - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't see any of whom I consider the greats, (coaches), as stagnant, the way I do McVay. Well, unless you go back to the Lombardi days. Put simply - Belichick is 1,000 things... McVay is ONE.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
This has all the 'makings', I think, of the typical "QB IS ALWAYS AT FAULT" I hear from youth football fans, high school Dads who know they are better coaches. But I say that believing Stafford has earned some severe criticism. I try to sync up what we saw earlier in the season with what we are seeing now... so yes it's possible... that a player is just falling apart.. but I thinkby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com

all I can see is that by bringing him onboard took all, as in ALL, focus off Kupp, Jefferson, Higbee. The only receiver OBJ's presence hasn't seemed to effect is Henderson. And this even though he is NOT getting targeted all that often... unless the play is of the critical nature. If I didn't know better I'd swear Snead and McVay are more concerned with proving those they acquire are worthby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm pissed. I am, unfortunately, used to disappointment... and I never have to worry about losing my love for the game. I am NOT one of those that drops football once the Ram's are eliminated... not that there is a damn thing wrong with that... kind of wish I was like that, but I'm not. I love the game.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
there is nothing TO prepare... because nothing is going to change. There has been changes in personnel, and I think they may actually talk change but once that kickoff occurs it's McVay football from top to bottom including the D... The only actual change is the uni colors, and that ain't working - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com

but some very basic things have to change.by JamesJM - Game Time Forum
and in a sort of perverse way I think a 'hopeful' one as well. I don't know if McVay can change... but I'm not as certain as others that he can't. I still think it's possible. If he can find it in himself to man-up and take full responsibility, (warranted or not), it just might turn this thing around.by JamesJM - Game Time Forum
