So...are they required to get in that stance for the combine....or do they do it because it's proven to be a more explosive start.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Sure, Goff was not sharp in that game. But to me....it just seemed like the play schemes were a bit vanilla. In the end, they were able to fall back on Gurley to save the day and be the difference maker. I just wonder if they went into the Detroit game thinking they could pull out a win without showing too much more of the non-Kupp passing game. The end result was plays where receivers were nby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Unless McVay is absolutely sold on one over the other.....both will probaby need to be active on game day. This probably further assures that Obo doesn't see playing time this year.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
That's his brand.....he's always trying to find that "different take" on things and trying to be edgy. That's fine. But that also lends itself to him being horribly wrong at times.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree they seem to swarm to get "around" the ball carrier....but don't finish the play and "attack" the ball carrier. It's almost like they are being coached to just contain......and not give up the big play. Usually Wade's defenses play man coverage and are always attacking. His pass defense with the Rams is still mostly man...but it's not an attacking style. It's a sofby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Cowboys and Jaguars shocked the Saints and Colts. The Colts were on an offensive roll in prior games. The Lions flumuxed the Rams.....but the Rams still came away with the W and 30 pts. It was painful for three quarters....but they took some punches on the road....and still one.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

If the Rams secure HFA......than it's no issue. However....if the NFC Championship game comes down to Rams vs New Orleans in NO......then it will be a 1:00 PM game if the AFC game is in LA. If AFC game is in Foxboro or Pittsburgh....then the NFC game would be a 4:25 start. If the AFC game is in KC....then it's a coin flip on which will be a 1:00 PM start. They have to be thinking......"I don't want to fumble......but I KNOW I'M GOING TO FUMBLE". Must be a totally helpless feeling. The pure power of AD hammer-dropping his arms on the inside of the QB's elbows is amazing.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

Starting to look more and more like this will be a redshirt year for Obo.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I have posted this several times before. Phillips' defense is predicated on having big, strong DB's who jam the receiver at the LOS and disrupt their routes. Talib is the only corner that can do this. Phillips, Hill, and Shields, and Robey-Coleman are just too small to do this. The Rams badly need a DB who is at leat 6 foot and 200 lbs. Next year it will still be Talib and Peters on the #1by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams will ride with Talib and Peters through 2019. But as we have seen this year....there is a big drop off to the #3 and #4 DB. And Talib is at continued risk of injury with his age. If Ebukam and Fowler can continue to grow and Obo can contribute in 2019....maybe they aren't as week (long term) on outside LB as was thought. But inside......they need a big tracking run stuffing LB. First twby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Falcons got pass rush on Brees....particularly in the first half. The Falcons defense got an INT and fumble recoveries. The problem was.....the Falcons offense kept giving the ball right back to the Saints. However the point is.....the Saints O-line has been slipping the past few weeks and has showed a few kinks in the armour. Today it cost them. Would be good to see Carolina and Pittsburgh study up on the Dallas defense to see if they too can get one. According to Aikman....it was the constant pressure up the middle that caused Brees to be skittish and miss several throws. He said the edge rush doesn't bother Brees....but pressure up the middle does because Brees is only 6 ft....and can see over defenders when they are in his face.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
At home vs the Browns...the Browns FG kicker misses four kicks. The last of which was a 52 yard FG that would have given the Browns the lead with about two minutes left. Due to the miss...the Saints had great field posiiton, then moved the ball 30 yards for the game winning FG. On the Road against the Ravens.....the Ravens score what should have been the game-tying TD with time winding down.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
When have you ever seen an O-lineman who was cut mid-season by another team get credit from the local press of his new team for having stabilized an entire O-line and turn their fortunes around?by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
My opinion: Let Suh walk. Keep Brockers, tell him to put on 20 lbs. Keep Fowler Let Barron Walk Keep Peters if we can have Talib one more year. Sort of Indifferent on Joyner. I would like to see how he plays when he has two solid DB's in coverage. But unless he accepts a pay cut....let him walk. Granted you can't rest on the fact that performance against Detroit, SF, Arizona is going to match what they will see in the playoffs. However......nothing is wrong with picking up a little bit of momentum. This defense needs a spot in the schedule where it can take a breath....then reload. Having the bye.....then facing a few struggling offenses will allow them to do just that.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I have always slightly leaned toward the theory that the NFL perpetuates certain franchises to remain in the running for the Super Bowl. Teams like the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Packers usually get the benefit of the doubt...much more so than say....the Browns, Buccaneers, Rams, Titans. Long running successful franchises is good for ratings....and good for NFL $$.....and the Refs know that.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

I agree with you that New Orleans is a well oiled machine right now. But....the Falcons essentially puked all over themselves in this game. Quite frankly, in the first half the Saints had a few gaffes. Had the Falcons not screwed things up...they could have actually had the lead after half time. Secondly, for the first time that I have seen all year....Brees was getting hit and sacked. Perby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I get it that two of his starting lineman are out for the year....as is Devonta Freeman. But man.....Ryan looks a bit skittish and indecisive. Also....Julio Jones seems to have lost a step. I might be wrong on that....it just seems like he is no longer a super-freak athletic WR.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's face it. McVay didn't think he had enough experience and credibility to put his thumb print on the defensive side of the ball. Plus he probably didn't have many qualified candidates lining up to take the job before the 2017 season. So, he created the situation where he hires Wade and let's him operate autonomously. Two years later, McVay clearly knows how to be a successful head coach.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

I think I'm up to about eight. Hilarious. Some of them haven't even been close. A few suprising ones from well known "genius" sports talk hosts. As good as Pittsburgh is.....I just don't see any opposing team being able to win at the dome. I will certainly root Atlanta on tomorrow night .....but can anyone really expect that game to be competitive after halftime? So it comes down to the Saints road games against Dallas and Carolina. Figure they lose one of those. The Rams would need to run the table to get HFA.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
And I would say in not such a good way. Because the Rams defense is marginal......all the Rams opponents have a shot and can score. So every game is close and down to the wire. It's really just a question of what magic McVay, Goff, and Gurley need to perform to outpace the opponent. Andy frankly.....the casual fan LOVES WATCHING THAT! He's getting everything since week 4. So...14.5 in 7 games. With 5 games left I figure he has at least 5 sacks left. Plus....the rest of the season is against teams where the Rams should be able to get a lead.....then pin the ears back and get the QB. The Bears might be the exception to this.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
