They tanked (allegedly) in order to get a franchise QB in 2020. They selected Tua instead of Herbert. After 2 injury-plaugued seasons, the organization undermines Tua by failing to get him weapons and openly discussing trading him for DeShaun Watson. Finally, Tua begins to experience some success this season after the team gets a new HC and spends big money in free agency. But then the cby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteBerendsenRam <snipped> He was gone so quick in 2020 I still think he didn't put together a good game plan vs the Packers in the Playoffs. GO RAMS! I think we gave up 32 points in that game. I don't hold it against him, though, as I believe that AD was only playing with one arm in that game. Not having him at full strength surely hampered the defensive game plan.by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJimYoungblood53 <snipped> He knew, there's a time and place for man vs zone coverage, to call a blitz or not call one. Something different at least once in a while with a "reason" behind it. Don't just stay in a Zone because that's "what you do." Yep...nothing like the means justifying the means.by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit <snipped> ...stupid play calls in the red zone this week. To be clear...you're referencing the Charger defensive play-calling in the red zone, right? I mean...the offense put up 30 points on the road. Should be more than enough to beat the JAGS, don't you think?by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
He's steeped in knowledge of the Vic Fangio defense. There's NO ONE who can run it better outside of Fangio himself. Why, if it were ANY OTHER DC trying to run that defense, they would've given up 25 2nd half points to the JAGS instead 24! Can't wait to get him back with McVay! QuoteRam_Ruler That's a good point. I'm a fan of the new idea of work life balance. So I guess I can't complaint. Interesting. I run an office of criminal investigators. Below me, I have a handful of Sergeants. And below them...the Detectives. Of course, the Sergeants get paid more than the Detectives, but the salary increase doesn't come close to balancing out the extra demands that arby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesstrams would be, "will he go back to HIS defensive strategy or continue the Fangio thing?" I would guess HIS dealio, but that's a new system for the defense, but with the same dude.. My guess is that Morris would likely want a Fangio-style of defense and would hire a DC that prefers to run it as well. Reason-being is that he's had success with it over the past two seasons.by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesstrams Bill Murray - Stripes.. If this is the case, 2023 will be the least excited I've been for a season to begin as a Ram fan, ever.. I think that it'd be the opposite for me. There's a lot of talk on this board with respect to McVay and "control." While I don't see that as a reason for him contemplating stepping away from the game, I do believe that he's exerted, pby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Man...you're taking me back 21. A couple of things: 1) Wow! USC had quite a run with the RB's back then. I was born in 1970, so I became "conscious" of football around 1975-76. I thought that Ricky Bell, Charles White, and Marcus Allen were "it." It was awhile before I came to know that Sam Cunningham and OJ Simpson had set the standard before them. 2) (LOL!) QuoteJimYoungblood53 he's the best, when healthy their rules said, "If a player missed five or more games as of Week 15, then they are ineligible. I think the thing for me is that, over the past few games of the season (despite losses), an undermanned roster continued to play hard for their coaches. That goes a long way for me. He didn't play very well today. Passes were repeatedly behind his receivers. Trying not to create excuses for him, but I have to wonder how much experience he has with rainy weather? I mean...that pass to VJ was an absolute duck.by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 <snipped> Meanwhile, I see glaring needs if not outright holes at the following positions: Edge RB CB Safety Backup QB TE All this with just a handful of cap dollars without restructuring and only 2 premium picks, and that’s assuming that Snead doesn’t trade out of them for an experienced vet. But I understand the rationale of why we (and many other teams) play it. And even more than understanding the rationale, I have to acknowledge that it was pretty damn effective (in terms of limiting the opposition's ppg) for most of the season.
