When you have a great defense and the game is close or it is early in the game, you don't make risky throws. You make safe throws whether or not you are under pressure. You throw the ball away or you throw it where only your guy has a chance at the catch. When you're trailing in the second half, you start to take chances - under pressure or not. Let's see how he does this year under those circby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Best stat of the game. Rams' CBs shut down two very good WRs. Let's see if they can do the same vs. Fitz. Jordy Nelson 3 catches for 23 yards Amari Cooper 1 catch for 9 yards Worst stat of the game. The Raiders attacked the LB in coverage. I think we all expected that the be the weak link in the D and other teams will keep attacking until it gets cleaned up. Getting Barron back will help. Tavon's problem is that he just can't find a coaching staff that is smart enough to use him right. Well, except for Fisher's staff...by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
1 carry for 1 yard 1 reception for -3 yards He did have another reception for about 8 or 9 yards that was called back on a penalty. But the penalty was on the LOT for blocking a guy in the back that would have tackled TA for a loss. So there's that :)by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm in StL and I don't hold a grudge against Stan. IMO, he bought the minority share in the team back in the day with the long-term purpose of building a mega stadium. That never made sense in StL. And I glad he never sought public money to build the stadium in LA or StL. I do think StL can support a team and would like to see Khan move the Jags here, but somehow I think he is destined forby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
The defense will be good enough to win games against average to below average teams even with a backup QB. If Goff goes down with a season ending injury than perhaps the season is lost. But if he needs to miss 5 or 6 games, a couple of wins could be the difference between making the playoffs or not. I'd like to see an upgrade over Mannion. But it would be interesting to see him play with someby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Pretty fair deal for both sides IMHO, especially since it is a 6 year extension and not 4 or 5. He is 27 though. 34 in 7 years. How long was Sapp productive?by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
If the number is 20, then I'm pretty sure EVERYONE on the board would be wrong. At least I don't recall anyone thinking it would be that low. I know I didn't/still don't. Does that make you feel better?by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
And if true some of the speculation on this board has been way out of whack.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
For most players, those are good things that result in more money. AD is an exception.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Two OL jumped on the first one and he didn't get called. It was all him on the next play though. I know its early for him, but if he develops into a starting LT to replace Whit in a year or two or just give Whit some plays off this year when Goff is on the bench due to our huge 4th quarter leads :), it will be pretty big effing deal for the roster going forward.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I keyed on him in some plays and he held his own in pass pro and took his man out in the run game. I only noticed him at LT though, don't know if he took snaps anywhere else on the line.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
If Goff is in, so is Whit. We don't want another Trent Green situation. I just don't see this team rallying around Manion and playing good football!by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Paul Gruber held out for 7 weeks after being tagged. He even worked out a contract with the Raiders but Tampa and the Raiders couldn't agree on a trade and Gruber signed and reported. Lomas Brown held out after being tagged by the Lions, he missed one week before signing. Sean Gilbert held out an entire year before signing with the Panthers and the Redsking recieved two first round picks asby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
This is actually pretty funny. Hitler learns about AD's holdoutby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43So, what is the true “fair market value”? The Rams can offer "market value" all day long but if AD is trying to reset the market, then what??by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
For me anyway, it is most likely to be broken right here on this board by RamBill !!by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
No. But that would be hilarious.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDaJudgeIf anything, give some sort of limited cap exception to players originally drafted by the club. This is a good idea. Perhaps only count 90% of salary against the cap (to throw out a number) for drafted players.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
It's not about the money, it's about the ego.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Although the DL of AD, Suh, Brockers has its own benefits :), I can't imagine that an AD holdout was at least a consideration considering there are other positions of need that $15M would have shored up.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteznSo bottomline...under those circumstances, if they ever actually occur, I think the Rams would take the best trade offer they could get, and right now without know the situation, it's impossible to say what that would be. Like I said, they got a ton of picks for Dickerson, they got Faulk for a 2nd rounder...these things are far less slotted and predictable then trading picks on draft day.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn I don;t know why some people act like the 25 M is fixed in stone. I just see it as the opposite position in a tough negotiation. I don't see any evidence that they are sticking to 25 M no matter what. So that particular mantra is a little puzzling to me...I don't think there's any real basis for claiming it. That's why I said 25ish. Quotezn IF it got to a worst case trade scenario,by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
I think AD will eventually sign with the Rams, but it won't be by Aug. 7th. However, if the story that's out there that suggests he is looking for a deal that pays Cap% instead of fixed amounts, I don't know if the Rams, or any team, would be willing to make such a deal. That situation could make this drag out for quite a while and make Ekern55 look prescient.by CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
If there is actually a team out there that thinks AD is worth $25M ish/year, surely they would be willing to compensate the Rams accordingly in trade. If AD holds out for money, the Rams can just as well hold out trading him until some team makes a fair offer. Its not like the Rams would be forced to take the first lowball offer that came along. Two first rounders are a minimum and they'd needby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, I contend that the two picks given for Gilbert were compensation under the rules of the CBA and not a trade. I think we can move on. Regardless of that, the takeaway is that of all of the guys that held out because they were unhappy being tagged, only one of them was unable to come to terms with the team. Because unlike guys that demanded trades for team-related issues, contract issues gby CeeZar - RamsFootballFans.com
