Yeah, we sometimes forget just how bad- truly bad- those 2007-'11 teams were overall. At one point late in 2014 Fisher was 20-24-1 as Rams' HC (.456) before losing the final 3 that season. And 24-30-1 midway through 2015 before things just started to go south. Like you said obviously a step up in steadying the franchise. Just couldn't take them further than that.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Long way to go but right now my 2021 Draft hopes for the Rams top 3 picks (exact order TBD) would be Edge rusher, DE and DT. Entirely front seven defense.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
...since the start of 2017. Rams were 45-99 from 1990-'98. Rams were 15-65 (NFL's all-time worst 5-year W/L record...) from 2007-'11. Good to keep perspective.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Just one data point here, but PFF ranks Peters 73rd out of 125 ranked CBs while Williams, Ramsey and Hill are 3rd, 17th and 54th, respectively. Peters was really valuable to Baltimore last year and not saying he is bad this year. But I think the Rams should be very pleased how things shook out.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Pick your poison. Ridiculous that it was neither....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I wonder if that's even a possibility. If this continues he is sure to get head coaching sniffs come January. Could they overpay/offer a raise to keep him at least a 2nd season? If not, perhaps Aubrey Pleasant might be ready for the role? He's built a nice track record and resume for himself with the Rams secondaries and has been with McVay now for 8 years.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought Whitworth might be one-and-done with the Rams in 2017. Then after 2018 I was pretty sure he'd retire. And in 2019.... I'm done.. Maybe he does retire. Maybe not. I would guess that IF he does return in 2021 he will play well. He's a freak. And the Rams can afford him. As far as Noteboom goes, if he keeps playing well then it's a nice problem to have. They would have a guy in 2021 thby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If Hopkins can develop into a good TE2 for them they will likely end up with their top 6 picks all becoming strong contributors (and some starters). When you don't pick in the top 50 that's some good work.... And to me Anchrum does not even need to start for that to be a good value pick. For a late 7th rounder if all he ever becomes is a quality backup that's not bad either...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Really one of his better games in that regard. And of course the OL performed well too. That Tampa defense is no joke....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Both were very solid. Edwards playing well can only help Noteboom. Havenstein did not have a very good night it seemed.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah. I would have preferred a safe pass called there but a sack or TO would have been brutal. Was also clearly a vote of confidence in their defense.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, and Tampa clearly game planned to take that away. Everett especially was overmatched trying to set the edges there. Noteboom held up very well overall. Deserves kudos. Keep it up!by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Congratulations to Coach McVay for win #40 as Rams head coach. Ties Ray Malavasi 5th place on the Rams all-time wins list. Next up is George Allen (49). McVay's career win percentage right now is .690 (8th all-time)... Last night was the Rams 584th win as a franchise, 8th most in NFL history and closing in on San Francisco (587) and Philadelphia (589). Congratulations to Jared Goff for pasby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Other than the curious 3rd and 8 run before the final FG and a couple of those Woods screens that Tampa quickly sniffed out I thought he called a very good game overall. They had the better game plan than Tampa on both sides of the ball.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I came into the game thinking this was a top 5 (Bucs) vs. top 10 (Rams) matchup. I was pretty confident the Rams could do what they did defensively and hold Tampa to 24 or less. It was the Rams' offense I wasn't sure about. Not a stellar game, but on the road vs. clearly a top 3-4 defense (and THE best run defense in the league) the Rams showed up and traded punches all night. To put up 27 poby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If anyone had said in August the Rams would split their two games in FL this year would you have been happy with that? I would..and am...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not perfect by any means but, on the road against a legit top 5 team in the league, that was a very good win. Cancels out the MIA loss. Rams are, as of now, 2nd seed in the NFC. Now they have to keep it.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree completely. And at minimum it was holding against Donald in the end zone for a safety.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
As bad as the Rams tackling was the first several games it has been really good overall the past 6 games or so.by LMU93 - Game Time Forum
Has talent but had bad luck with two major knee injuries and showed very little this year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Wentz is on pace to be sacked 64 times so it's not all him. But he's one of the worst QBs in the league this year and with having drafted Hurts 53rd overall this spring they may need to play him and see what they have.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah the NFC East game could be any of those 4 at this point. I'd love to get to LA for a game in 2021 but am also looking at going to Minnesota. Definitely going to New Orleans in 2022....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Winning all six would be great... But looking shorter term, I still think the Rams are in a good (playoff) spot if they win (any combination) 2 of the next 3 vs. TB, SF, and ARZ. They would be 8-4. Of course, they'd need to win their two AFC games vs. NE and NYJ and then, to have any shot at the division, beat Seattle. Hoping for a win tonight as I think they might need it as a tiebreaker oveby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, especially 1984, '85 and '86. Eight and sometimes nine man fronts all day. Pretty amazing their running game was that good. Dickerson has the most yards by a RB through his first 7 seasons. Just too many miles on the tires after that to continue the way Payton and Smith did. I agree Jim Brown to me is still #1. Over 5 yards/carry and 104 yards/game in an era when it was a true runningby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The Browns are a great story and I think they will finish 10-6 and earn a wildcard. I have a close friend that's been a Browns' fan for 40 years and I'm happy for him. But I'm also not sure the Browns are really an upper half of the league team. Colts look legit to me. Honestly I think in the end Rivers might be their weakest link.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
SJD came of age last year and has improved further this year. He is a very nice rotation piece in that DL. Glad we have him for 2021 as well. Could be one of those midrange FAs they can afford to extend.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I have always felt that you don't need a team to be top 10 in all three areas- offense, defense and special teams- to be a true contender. But you also cannot be bottom 10 in anything.... The fact that they are one of the 2-3 worst ST units in the league is concerning. A missed XP vs. Seattle seems trivial but it's not. The KOR they allowed out to midfield- what if that had gone all the way?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe so. And I hope you're right. He could be a good WR2 on several teams. And a team that views him that way will have to pay a bit more. Would love to end up with a 5th round comp. for him. I just still think anything better than that is unlikely.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
