Man, has it been a loooooooong offseason or what?!? Time to kick some 9er butt!! KKKRRRRRAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK! Go Rams!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

"He is bad developing QBs ..." And yet Keenum and Mannion are both noticeably better than they were last year.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
"... the offensive coordinator never called a play until last season." On the positive side his play calling last season was a breath of fresh air. Considering that he was saddled with calling the plays from another guy's offense last season and now he'll be calling plays from his own playbook is cause for optimism IMO.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Once Keenum signs his FA contract with another team the Rams will likely get a 3rd round comp pick. (That might not be a lot, but it isn't 'nothing'.)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Aaron Donald is getting press as possibly the best defensive player in the league and Fisher didn't start him right away, either. (Game 4 IIRC)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Even if Goff is inactive can't he still come in if Keenum and Mannion both get hurt? (With the stipulation that if Goff does come in then neither Keenum nor Mannion could return?)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Perhaps the thinking was something like this: The Rams are good enough now to win with Keenum (based on the defense in general and the Dline in particular, Gurley & the rest of the RBs, and the improving OL). Next year they'll be even better with Goff at QB ... and Goff will improve the team more than all the guys they could have drafted would have. Plus if it works out he'll do it for aby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think they do that for an ACL - do they?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I get the logic - still hate betting on the 9ers.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
In addition there should be enough film of both Wichman and Brown from camp and the preseason games that the Rams can make an informed decision about which one should start and which one should sit.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the plan was Saffold to LG. Let's see if that plays out!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the NFL wanted to further discourage teams from running the ball out of the end zone on kickoffs (and giving them an extra 5 yards for taking a knee might do that). But I think what will happen is exactly what you said: teams will try to kick off to the 5 yard line and then try to pin the returner inside the 25. I agree that more KO returns will result from this rule change, not fewer.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Awesome report - the only way I get to 'see' camp, being 3,000 miles away, is when guys like you post a report. THX!! Go Rams!!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
... and the Rams will get a 3rd round comp pick for Keenum when he signs his lucrative free agent contract!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Is it possible that some of those underthrows are the result of something other than lack of arm strength ... like not having his timing down with that particular WR so he simply throws to the wrong spot? Or perhaps he had trouble reading the play fast enough and threw to the right spot a split second too late? Any QB can throw a 30 yard pass when a 35 yard pass is called for: that doesn't neceby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the games 4-6 make sense but I'll add my own 2 cents: Goff's first start will be at home so he has a home crowd behind him rather than having to deal with a hostile environment on top of everything else. Looking further, game 4 is at ARI & game 6 is at DET. But game 5 is at home against BUF. I think the Buffalo game will be Goff's first start. Personally I think Joyner and Sensabaugh are seeing so much action at CB so the rams can figure out whether either can play the position at the NFL level, not to see which one should start opposite TJ. As I see it TJ, Gaines, Hill, Roberson are the top four at CB and Joyner and Sensabaugh are in a battle for #5.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I always thought they did that so when they do run a play action pass the stuff the QB does won't stand out as something different. IOW if the QB only looks like he's passing on real play-action passes it would be easier for the defense to see that it's a pass. (Just my opinion ...)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I get all of that, and I'm actually OK with it.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I, too, see Keenum starting against SF in week 1. This is the first offseason that Keenum went in as the #1 QB and the first camp that Keenum has gotten any reps with the 1's as far as I can remember. The environment has been good for his development and I for one am thrilled that the Rams don't have to toss Goff out there before he's ready. Go Rams!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Technically it's 6 draft picks for a guy who hasn't beaten out Case Keenum thru 2 preseason games. There's a big difference between not having the talent to start and not being ready to start. Is there any doubt that Goff will be ready to start at some point? (I'd say 'no', maybe some would disagree.) And if it takes say 5 games into the regular season before Goff is ready what's the bigby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Also, remember that if GRob had completed his college eligibility this would be his rookie season. I am confident that spending the last 2 years with the Rams was better preparation for this season than staying in college would have been. Go Rams!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
To me it seems that if Bradford had stayed healthy or if Foles had at least met minimum expectations the Rams results would have been better. Tough to win in this league with a decent QB. Hopefully the Goff plan works out.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
