I guarantee the way the 9ers played that like it was their Super Bowl is firmly entrenched in the players' memories. McVay & Phillips too. Especially McVay and Phillips. No way the Rams will overlook this game.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Without him we probably don't have enough on defense. With him we have as good a chance as anyone.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe put him on the edge in obvious passing downs. Guy like him will beat OTs too, difference is the holds on the edge get called. I'm sure he could handle contain responsibilities too, he's pretty quick on his feet.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I mean a bad play call would be if you call a play and the defense is... a. Sitting on what you're doing, based on them scouting your scheme and you not anticipating what they're going to do. b. Otherwise in a look that is predicable for the situation, to where you should have anticipated them doing what they do. Fans see a run get stuffed and they're like "OMG we should have passedby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They're very good vs the pass on the back end, have a good rush, and while they haven't been elite vs the run in the past few games they've limited opponents to 3.5 yards per carry. We'll see how they go through the rest of the schedule, but they're playing great ball right now so not surprised the crapped all over the Titan's plodding offense.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Do you want to play your safeties deep on first down when Jared's been tearing up defenses, or use them to try to contain Gurley. Most defenses won't be able to do both. Oh and re: the Falcons, they also had a LB who is extremely athletic who did a great job shadowing TG in the playoff game. But yeah if I'm a DC playing the Rams there is no way I'd let them light me up in the passing gamby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
When they took Barkley I figured they'd win about 8 games and be well out of the elite QB type range, but their roster is worse than I thought it was. So if they manage to end up picking very high and/or find a QB, they will indeed be sitting very nicely. Anyway Barkley is an amazing talent and you'd have to be blind to not see that. But he's still a RB, a position where teams can find goodby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
How many rare RBs lead to perennial deep playoff contenders and championships? Here's a quick spin down Super Bowl memory lane: 2017 Super Bowl: no rare RB for either Patriots or Falcons. 2016 Super Bowl: no rare RB for either Broncos or Panthers. 2015 Super Bowl: no rare RB for either Patriots or Seahawks. (Marshawn is good, but not a rare/elite talent) 2014 Super Bowl: no rare RB for eiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't want to take away from his career achievements, though, either. He was the best when he ran Parcells' defense, and he's still the best and has grown into a fine all around head coach who knows both sides of the ball. But yeah his history is littered with top passing offenses being stifled just enough for his teams to win. That said, I think KC wins this game. Why? Because typicallyby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Too early to know still, of course. RBs always have quick impact, and QBs take a little more time. We'll see.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That is the requirement and even with that a team has to be able to score on our defense. Now admittedly scoring on our defense is looking pretty easy to do right now, but hopefully they tighten that up until they get Talib back. But going back that is what slows a great offense. Winning the LOS pressures the QB and disrupts his rhythm, and allows for 3rd and longs which are required to getby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams now have 4, which is really good. Cooks can win vs most teams' top CBs. Kupp & Woods can win vs their respective matchups on most defenses. And Gurley of course in the run and pass game. The OL quality and Jared's growth bring that combination of matchups to a fearsome level. But again just imagine if they can get those TEs going a bit more, to where they are trustworthy matchupsby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
And I think that's what defenses are thinking when they are watching film of this offense and getting ready to play him. Goff is in the zone. He looks to have full mastery of the offense. He's droppin dimes wherever and whenever he wants. Protections are there. Receiving talent is there. No place on the field is safe from his arm. So yeah that courtesy he shows, and how well he was raiseby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Go back and look at Kirk's production vs Sean's defenses and it ain't pretty. Hope McVay is on the phone with him this week for that matter.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Good post btw and I agree, but it's cool to keep in mind... 1. He's 23. 2. He has one of the brightest offensive minds in the league drawing up plays and coaching him up. 3. He has the drive and desire to consistently improve. 4. He has a full team around him ready to contend. I want to pinch myself sometimes looking at this team. It's still new enough to me to see what might be a dynasby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
In their first game he had wideouts dropping passes all over. One drive he threw what would have been 3 TDs, in fact, in week one. He's as sharp as I've ever seen him, and the Chargers are definitely a good test for our defense.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Cooks has drawn two huge PI penalties thus far as well. His impact to this offense cannot be overstated thus far.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Unfortunately "Captain Checkdown" plays in a man's league, and the threat of a hit is too much for him to focus all that talent.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Dallas is now learning what the Rams already knew.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They kicked off the season vs an NFC Super Bowl favorite, in their house, and in spite of 2 INTs earlier in the game to include a pick six were positioned to possibly tie the game when Garoppolo threw that third INT. Their defense played well, and their offense opened some big holes in the run game. 9ers are a challenge for us. No doubt about it to my eye. The Seahawks are probably anotherby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Was the Skins game, where Jay Gruden had a gameplan ready with answers for what his offense wanted to do (which was basically Gruden's offense with more emphasis on the wideouts vice TEs). I think that one was a big time learning evolution for Sean, and this time around he's going to be prepared to flip the script. My main concern is the Rams stopping the run. Lynch looked really good in hisby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Extremely well connected, and parrots what he hears from around the league. I think this is why his take is so good with some teams and not so good with others, because his product is a group-think type deal. I do not see him as a shrewd football mind who can form his own opinions based on what he sees.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams have a 37 year old LT and would have a lot of difficulty replacing him with their current roster. It's about not risking Big Whit, and Goff follows for obvious reasons. Preseason week 3 will be the offensive dress rehearsal and Jared will likely get a good body of work in that game.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He does way too many fluff pieces tbh. Truth is not all your roster bubble types are some diamond in the rough. And granted I am very impressed by our draft group given the lateness of the picks, however all teams have the same spin on their classes right now. He'll get there, just needs a lot of seasoning.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If I'm Keim there is no way I'd hand the Rams a backup the quality of Palmer. It's already bad enough we have McVay, Goff, Gurley, etc.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's likely to have a huge season this year.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If so the Cards wouldn't give him up to us easy.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
1. You have a contract that makes you the richest defender in the league by a good margin and sets your security for the remainder of your life. OR 2. You can sit out, lose 10 weeks worth of game checks, lose a year towards free agency. 3. You can report to camp on time to not lose that year, but look forward to two more years thereafter with the franchise tag and playing without the guaraby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Dickerson, Bettis, and Faulk. All were traded, and granted Bettis was due in large part to hating the coaching staff, but all three were moved.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It's noticeable after last season's run, people all over in Rams gear now. They are well on their way in LA.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
