Goff himself said he didn't put the ball where it was supposed to be. On the very deep pass, he led Kupp too far. He and Kupp were both at fault leaving points on the board.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit Maybe. But the Rams RBs are pretty small and trying to out muscle a team like the 49ers inside the 5 would be challenging. Remember it gets tougher to run down near the goal line because the defense doesn't have to worry as much about the pass. And Henderson really should have scored on that toss on 2nd down; he just wasn't able to outrun the LB. That entire drive the Ramsby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
And any proclamations that this is team is mediocre, or not a playoff team, or just a wildcard team are all overreactions. The team has flaws but there isn't a team that doesn't. The record is still 4-2 so they are not in bad position.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDeadpool 2. McVay made 1 really bad decision tonight when it was 2nd and goal from the 1 and after running the ball down their throats the whole drive, passed the ball 3 times. That was the ball game. --- Agree! We were getting 7-10 ypc on that drive. They couldn't stop it. Inexplicably we decided to stop ourselves by not running from the 1. 3. Goffs trajectory to me looks like a Flaccoby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsdude Quote21Dog In contrast to the coverage of the Ram secondary and LBs. 49er pass receivers were open all night. lol...just like 7-11, they were open all the time! :lol3 Not a big fan of the early defensive game plans by Staley so far. His "adjustments" in the second half are fine (for the most part) but WTH is going on in the beginning of games? We all know our LB'by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought the mistake there was the play calling. He was averaging 6+ yards every touch up the middle but for some reason when they got to the 5 yard line, they didn't even try going up the middle. We can't say he's not tough enough to get those when they didn't make an attempt.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit N/M. They're averaging 6.3 ypc tonight with multiple explosive plays. That should be the last complaint.by dzrams - Game Time Forum
QuoteSpeed_Kills even the Rams were preparing Goff for the poor line play. Wanted his to improve in a cluttered pocket and move better/more the Rams oline in the second half last year got beat up pretty good at Pittsburgh and wasn’t good against either the Ravens or Cowboys they were good pass blocking in that SF game so I will give them that I can only go on what I see and based on whatby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Don’t louse it up. The OL has surprised every realistic fan. That’s been the biggest reason why my mind has changed. Nah, I don't think it was unreasonable to expect that a very young OL would show massive improvement. Why not just give credit to people who called things correctly from the beginning?by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills but it was in a segment where two analyst were asked. James Jones said the Rams so if that was the source take it with a grain of salt How do you feel about that if it is the Rams? I'm ambivalent. We have 2 young good RBs already so I would feel kinda bad for them. OTOH, whatever helps our football team right?by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSaguaro He knows good and well that all the coaches scheme and play design to get their receivers open. He knows Sean McVay is a good coach. I believe his point is that it is just not mentioned as often for other QB's/coaches as a reason for the why the QB is able to complete passes and look good. There's a frequent implication that Goff has it easy because McVay. Ah, that's a good poby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
I think everyone is doing it. McVay is just doing it at a higher level. Chris Sims recently described McVay as a genius in scheming. Just like with everything else in life, everyone can't be a genius; you either are or aren't.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Sure. Van will be a poor mans Cooper Kupp. He’s not as good as Kupp I don't think anyone knows what Van will be. It's too soon to say he will be a poor man's Kupp or better than Kupp. But what is clear is that Kupp didn't enter the league with any more talent or athleticism than what Van has now.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax QuoteSpeed_Kills Kupp is an exception not the rule Max's point is that those WRs were chosen before Jefferson for a reason ... I mean I tried to tell people that he wasn't going to come in and just tear it up That being said hes not done developing at all. For example its clear to me that physically he can get bigger and stronger. He needs some seasoning for sure and IMO he can cby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin Here's a good site. And look at how Kamara rates out, he's a mid-pack kind of dude in SR and has been. But he will rise in the DVoA side, meaning he'll be showing more explosive plays as the season goes on and end up probably top 5-10 in that metric. Hendy is #3 in SR and #2 in DVOA right now. I'm not expecting him to be bad in SR merely b/c he's not huge.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
What you say may be true in that the mlb position is a playmaking one in this offense. But it strikes me as funny to be asking for a better playmaking player right after a 3 sack game that was near historic for a Rams MLB. We're asking for a playmaker right after someone did the best playmaking we've seen in decades. We probably need one but the timing is amusing to me.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Quotespagsbacker I have heard Rams targeted CEH but Chiefs nabbed him, and Rams "reached" for Akers. I think Hendy has looked better. Im shocked Akers got run down by DE Sweat. I agree that we will see less and less of M Brown. go rams. Honestly, backer, are you telling us that you couldn’t see a difference between Akers and Hendy yesterday? Besides the one run, I donby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin What the Rams need in this offense most is success rate runs, i.e. runs that keep the chains moving. Someone in this backfield needs to take on that role for this group to maximize their impact. I don't think Hendy is that guy. And I like Hendy by the way, I think he's a good backfield piece and he's going to pair nicely with Akers. But he's got his weaknesses. Akers will be thby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteClassicalwit Not really. I think he takes bad angles because he always runs like he's in short yardage. He doesn't see what's going on around him. He gets in the clear and he just doesn't hit that other gear. Well, in this case, him taking a bad angle from possibly not seeing Slay is why he got caught. It wasn't a speed issue. It seems like you're conflating the two.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit What about Henderson, though? He got caught from behind when he had 3-4 yards on Darius Slay and that was on a perfectly dry and sunny Sunday afternoon. He seems to run like that no matter where he is on the field; he never just punches it. This one has been explained several times. He took a bad angle trying to get away from one defender which caused him to run closer to Sby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteSpeed_Kills they took him out immediately on that 3rd 5 its ok... he got to prove he knows his assignments If Akers is in the game guys the Rams are running the ball Good observation. That will limit his playing time a bit because McVay likes to be unpredictable.by dzrams - Game Time Forum
Quoteleafnose Has to have an edge in weight over DH It won't surprise though if they don't activate either he or kiser Akers definitely has the edge in weight. But I'd think you'd also want to look at strength for blocking ability. And beyond strength, desire which can't be measured.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam My guess is that he is going to upgrade our Dline almost immediately. Men that big and strong and athletic don't grow on trees. Plus, it allows the Rams to move SJD out to DE, which is what the plan was originally, giving the Rams more depth and fresh bodies to rotate in. Yep, I agree. Immediate upgrade! In fact I think his signing and then subsequently bringing Brockers back iby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam Some of it may rest on whether Kizer is ready to go. If not, they'll need to dress an extra ILB not an extra OLB. I don't know who the guy is that reported he was running with the starters and I haven't seen that verified anywhere. But if it's true that he was in practice this week, my guess is that he would be activated. I don't see them having him practice with the starters thisby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
