1) 2 plays of 40+ yards. No way in week 1 would that have happened. The opposing teams show more disrespect for this offense that I have ever seen. 9 in the box in this day of football is unheard of, but the Rams kept trying to ram it in against 9. In week 1, teams had like 0 guys on Britt, not 1 on 1 coverage but 0 on 1. I did not see the game, but saw the Austin and Quick touchdowns,by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
We are talking about a historically bad offensive team. No way they have 2 plays of 40+ yards in the same game in week 1. They didn't even take what was given to them. These 1 on 1 matchups with no safety help situations may end if they keep doing that and than we can see Gurley start to open it up. Plus, we got to see Gurley work around the goal line and he delivered in short yardageby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
1) Austin ran a very good pattern - ran hard at the defensive guy and separated on a great cut to the sideline. 3 receivers had man vs man coverage. 2) Finally some decent coaching. Great design on taking the outside WR and breaking in and clearing out the space for Austin. Austin in a one on one situation is a great place to be. This is the kind of play that the Rams would go for weby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and Gurley close to 100 yards as well. I just saw the highlights. Looks like the Rams got a couple of big plays just because they took what was handed to them. Quick and Austin. Finally. Some progress with just trying to do something other than the basic 6 plays.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
is not showing games. I figure they show the games for a couple of seasons at least.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
But can somebody answer me how in the world could this 37 points happen with this offense on the road to boot? That is a biggest shocker in Sports all year. I thought for a second that somebody switched the Steelers score with the Rams score. The Steelers only getting 3 points was equally as shocking. But must have been a great game to watch!by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
No rush to get rid of Keenum but no urgency to keep him. I would agree he is an average backup, and maybe in the Rams situation, he is a better fit for this team, because with this offense, regardless who the QB is, it is going to win with defense and special teams with the offense putting up a few field goals. Unless there is changes, the draft trade was a disaster, because there is no retuby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Davis could not make many of the throws so the field got very crowded. He was good until the book was out on him. The field is already crowded because of the way the offense is structured. Having a QB that has those kinds of limitations with the Rams offense is just too much to overcome.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
on the current Rams roster - nowhere near GSOT, but lots more than the performance we see each week. That is the problem. Players not developing, players not being put in position to make plays with the talent they have. But You do make a point, when you match it up, on paper, there are pieces that match. I would say Holt and Bruce - nobody to match up with them is significant. I belby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com

but I did think Houston was going to be good, but apparently not. Or, Maybe, they just stubbed their toe last night. I wonder who decides the NFL schedules and order that teams play each other. I would love to know that process.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That is the perfect scenario. Win the first 4 games and lose the first 4 games with Brady. I just didn't want the excuse makers for the poor Rams offense saying. See that. Patriots can't win without a star QB either. This isn't taking away anything from Brady. Yes, great quarterback and he is a big reason the Patriots are successful, but it does make a difference that they have a plaby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and it is not June Henley and Ricky Proehl as your 2 main players like 1998. This team has enough physical talent to be much much better.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com

He has had limited success but a long time ago on offense. He has been bad for a very long time as a head coach managing the offense. Even before the Rams he has been bad. There was a sprinkle of success in some seasons, but overall bad and trending downwards before rock bottom last year. The NFL is so good at identifying tendencies and all the teams know exactly what is coming. Givby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
But it's almost impossible to block two men at once. That is what the offensive coaching staff doesn't seem to understand. I have never seen a more predictable running game. 6 blocking 9 just doesn't work that well.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com

Belicheck was where Fisher was 15+ years ago but at some point, he realized that offense mattered. Since that time, he has put together great offenses and it doesn't matter if it is Brady, Matt Cassell (going 10-6), or this 3rd stringer that played tonight to lead the team to a 3-0 record without Brady. Today he wins with 3rd string QBs and puts up 20+ points. He is actually an excellent ofby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Britt sometimes doesn't even have a defender covering him. Austin has 3 guys running at him when he catches. The disrespect of Britt is something I really have never seen before. I would think he be racking up 200 yard games with 0 or 1 guys on him most of the game. I bet if both were available in the open market, Austin would get far more looks and far more money than Britt. I was sleeping at the wheel. Which game did he play last year. I figured it be at the end of the year, but went through games and can't find it. I see 7 attempts. Hate to be wrong. I thought I was wrong once but was wrong. :) This time it appears I am wrong.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
It is not just the deep ball that other teams do not respect. If you look at the field, the middle is rarely used and the linebackers are free to roam to stop Gurley and Austin. The deep sidelines is not used either. So defend the line of scrimmage and load up on Gurley if after the snap Gurley doesn't get it everybody run to Austin. At least Linebackers. That is a great point. If he played well, he could be dealt for high end picks. A QB that shows even a flash of success has tremendous value.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
despite lots of QB play with QB ratings near the bottom of the league in many games. I heard somebody say how improved he was and I say, versus what? We have never been able to get him on the field in a regular season game yet, despite tons of mop up opportunities and a team completely eliminated from the playoffs early.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Austin is Rams second best player on offense behind Gurley. I don't think he is great, but he is the best chance the Rams have in making a big play out of nothing. If the Rams had a competent offense, I could understand your position. Get more of a solid WR that can catch the ball and move the chains, but the Rams offense doesn't create opportunities to make routine plays like other NFL oby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
There is something with the way Fisher approaches QBs that they develop at a snail pace, if at all. I heard the other day that McNair didn't play for 2 seasons even and when he did play, his 'goodness' came exclusively from his physical skills versus is QB fundamental skills.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
This predictable offense has him messed up. I do agree he could be doing better, but this is nuts that the team can basically use their linebackers to roam wherever they want to stop Gurley and never have to pay the price.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
We are horrific using the middle of the field when the linebackers vacate their areas leaving so much open space.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Sigh - Same old story How about helping the QB and Gurley out a little more. Wish he said, we got better and have more work to do and left it at that. So tired, of this idea that there is no accountability - just blame the QBs. While the Patriots have guys off the street winning games without Brady. I bet they can score 20 points with the WR QBing if there is an injury next week!by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
this is not the first time he has implied the offense is designed for him to have to face 9 in the box. There was a comment previously. Now, to be honest, he physically does not look at good as last year, but I don't think his mind is right.
