A coach like McVay will never stop trying to improve his offense and he still wants his stud TE for his system. Now that guy may or may not be on the roster currently but if he’s not he will get one at some point. He also knows there is at least somewhat of a void with Sammy leaving. I never understood all these, “Snead should be fired, Snead is the best” posts. The GM role isn’t what it used to be as a whole and even more so in certain organizations today. There are a handful of guys making these decisions for the Rams, Snead, McVay, Demoff, Etc.. If the Rams draft heavy on the defense, Wade Phillips will be a huge part of that decision making. Was Gerald Everett worth the Rams first pick #44 overall in the 2017 draft? It’s not secret McVay drafted Everett to be his next, “Jordan Reed” as McVay puts a huge emphasis on using his go to TE in his offense. We know he wants a go to guy at that TE position.
