Beane is trying to keep a fan base that was expecting a ring last year at bay. He's feeling pressure to go out and get that one missing piece again but doesn't want to repeat the Miller mistake. Their window may already be closed if you consider Miami and the Jets if they get Rodgers. The BUCS started it all. Brought in Brady and then surrounded him with guys like Antonio Brown. They said No Risk It, No Biscuit. Rams decided they would try to duplicate that and it started with an upgrade at quarterback. Then they saw what they could do and added Miller and OBJ. That for the second consecutive year we didn't lose in the playoffs. Okay, okay...I'll remember it as a year where playing 21 games the year before really took its toll. Was watching a YouTube video about the Sea of Hands game between Miami and Oakland in 1974. I'll never forget Fran Tarkenton hosting SNL right after the Vikings lost to the Raiders, their fourth SB loss and Tarkenton's third. In his monologue he said "ladies and gentlemen we will be right back in the Super Bowl next year (waits for the cheers from the audience to stop) where we'll lose again (laughter)." Is anyone old enough to remember the Playoff Bowl? From 1960-69 the NFL had a third-place game played in Miami between the two runner ups (no AFC teams). The Rams beat the Browns 30-6 and the Cowboys 31-0 in 67 and 69. For years these results stood until the NFL wiped them from the record books.
