Always the best approach.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams officially will pick 19th in the first round, 52nd overall in the 2nd. According to Tankathon.com they have the 14th most draft capital in the league. And apparently with Mayfield's performance in 2023 the 6th round comp pick for him is likely now a 5th. Over the Cap currently reflects this too and in fact shows Rams with one 5th and three 6th round comp picks.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They were playing a very good team in a tough environment. Withstood the initial surge from the Lions and fought back hard. But 21 points allowed early and then redzone stalls were the difference. One red zone stop/conversion either way changes things. But like you said they played a very good game overall. Zero to be ashamed of (for the game or for the season).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Others beyond there but those are top two offseason needs for sure.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Just a couple thoughts after Stafford and Donald both confirmed their return for 2024. Releasing Noteboom and Allen saves the Rams another $9.9M in 2024 salary cap- but also increases their 2025 cap space by $12M. In 2025 the Rams officially have options with both Stafford and Donald. Personally I think 2024 will be Donald's final season and he'll then retire. I don't think he will chooseby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Disappointing to lose of course. But they showed up and went toe-to-toe with a top-8 team in a very tough road environment. Lions have a clear path to the NFC title game. And from there anything can happen. Rams were playing with house money. They exceeded everyone's expectations and it was a really fun year that created some real optimism for 2024 and beyond. I'm disappointed 2023 is oveby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
That was a thought I had before the game. Please don't have any major injuries happen in mid-January... He will likely miss the first half of the 2024 season now. All eyes now turn to Davis Allen and, I think, signing a veteran blocking TE for depth in free agency.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Actually yes, you're right. I was looking somewhere else but this shows them 4th this year at 63.6%.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The Lions have a top-3 OL and came out in front of a wild home crowd in the first half proving that. Rams took a while but did get it together.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
To me at least. They were actually 8th in the NFL this season in red zone scoring. 2nd best of McVay's tenure behind only 2019 when they were 6th. Their 60.3% redzone TD % was slightly better than in 2021 (59.1%).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. If you're voting for 2023 Coach of the Year it's Ryans and then maybe Stefanski but McVay would be top 5.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
As long as they don't get beaten down like CLEV last night I'll be just fine. They have exceeded expectations and earned a place here. Win or lose they have shown a lot this year. Zero pressure on them.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He can play situationally. No question. And may not have hit his ceiling yet. But I would much rather him be a role player that rotates in vs. an almost every down guy. Played 85% of defensive snaps in 2023 and, in my opinion, should be more like 45%. His RFA tender is $2.8M. Will be interesting to see what the Rams do there.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Based on projected draft capital and salary cap space. Chart basically puts the Rams along the 10 best positioned teams. via PFF.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
In the AFC, the only team I can see giving Baltimore real trouble is actually Cleveland.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Interesting read. Anything can happen of course but it's pretty hard to see a Super Bowl matchup besides BAL and SF at this stage. Final 2023 DVOA Ratings Rams notes: - The L.A. Rams climbed from 27th in DVOA in 2022 to 17th and would be even higher if not for historically bad special teams. The Rams finish with special teams DVOA of -9.8% which is the 6th-worst ever measured. - Matthewby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It has ALL cascaded from there. Between McVay hitting the reset button the right way and him having the time to bring in 9 new assistants that he really wanted (vs. scrambling to fill open slots after the Super Bowl) it's all stemmed from really good coaching. You don't draft 14 guys and have 5 of them make All-Rookie teams- and just see them and other 1st and 2nd year players get better andby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Last summer the only guy I would have thought even had a shot at these All-Rookie lists was Avila.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Heavy hands. He is a guy I think really takes a big step forward in 2024.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If someone had asked me to estimate their combined yards from scrimmage before the season I'd have said maybe 600.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
One of his best coaching jobs in the 7 seasons in LA. 77th career NFL win Sunday which now ties him with Forrest Gregg, Bobby Ross and Sean McDermott for 67th all-time. Just behind John Robinson (79). By the way, Bill Belichick tied the record in his last game w/ the Patriots Sunday!- for most career losses (w/ Tom Landry at 178). Poetic.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Jones deserves the extension ahead of Dotson. Without question in my opinion.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly. Did he come consult with them for 2-3 weeks or has he been there all year? No idea. Glad he was there. But I have not heard his name in months. Wendell has done a great job week to week.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They are not paying and Edge rusher or CB- and they need to. Badly. And I would argue strongly that they should pay Jones before Dotson. I'll keep the top-tier ILB ahead of the RG. I also trust Snead and co. to find interior OL elsewhere if needed. Jettisoned FAs, the Draft, 3rd wave free agency/trade. Also, how do they view McClendon? Maybe as the next swing backup OT replacing Noteboom?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
2024 NFL Free Agent Rankings: Top 100 players set to enter free agency via PFF Maybe guys like Dalton Risner (ranked 65th, Contract Projection: 3 years, $24M) or Ezra Cleveland (67th, 3 years, $28.5M) might be good fallback options if Dotson commands too much?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
DeJean is really interesting and I could see, with his versatility, that he could be a really good STAR candidate. And just overall 23rd seems like the general range he'll go. A great scenario would be trading back ~3 spots (for an extra 3rd) and still getting him. Plus Iowa kids are just always, while not sure things, players that tend to have really high floors and are rarely ever busts. Saby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it has to go to Ryans in HOU or Stefanski in CLE. But McVay would be up there with the top 4-5 Coach of the Year candidates (along with Campbell and Harbaugh in my opinion).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They lose Reynolds and Brudzinski after 1980. Inexplicably allow Ferragamo to leave in 1981. Try to remedy that with Pastorini in 1981 (sigh...) and in 1982 by acquiring Bert Jones who, well, didn't work out. As you said guys like Brooks, Perry, Thomas, Fanning, etc. rapidly showed their age. And while they drafted some good players in 1980 (Johnson, Pankey, Irvin, Guman) and 1981 (Owens, Colby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
