QuoteBumRap He did not adjust and he made it worse with his personnel decisions. I will be right unfortunately and that is how it goes. You over react and are knee jerk reacting and jettisoning your QB after not being man enough to do it prior to an injury is indicative of a flawed thought process. Pederson at least benched his QB. McVay just bensched our SB hopes period. You and I, since we’reby Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Steve is saying that it’s good. Plunkett played on completely awful teams in New England and was an exceptionally talented quarterback in college—lead Stanford to an upset over Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Al Davis knew this and his career got an infusion of new life and he went on to a great career with the Raiders. Hopefully Stafford can repeat that.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
Compare that to a coach that exudes humility and letting players play, Bill Belichick ( / ), Stafford was open to being traded to any of the teams in the league except for the Patriots.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
Lol. One difference is Stafford throws a pretty pass.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
That’s what I was saying, BumRap. Lurey made a choice and chose Wentz over Pederson who was under contract.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay tweaked the offense to accommodate Goff, not to over complicate it.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam Too much talk here about giving Goff a big deal and then trading him after poor play. How about Wentz ? The Wentz’s deal put pressure on the Rams to make the Goff deal. And then both quarterbacks proved they weren’t worth it. Not sure why Lurey choose Wentz over Pederson, but after that choice, it appears the Eagles are stuck with Wentz. Wentz seems too strong headed as well,by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM Sorry for the semi-biblical quote. I had a moment of weakness. :laughing Probably going to be saying this a lot over the coming months but for you guys convinced Stafford is the guy I HOPE TO HELL YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just haven't seen him that much to know. Let’s tweak that a bit and ask: Can anything good come out of Athens?by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s the issue with first rounders, 2 things: 1) You have to hit on them and, I think Snead is right, they have to be extra, extra special. If you draft a one, the term ‘bust’ slowly descends on them, and that weight crushes most players. (Exceptions do exist.) 2) Due to the salary cap, assuming you hit .1000 on your 1st round picks, you can only field about 5-6 and still field a team. Sby Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com

It was out of the We Not Me character mantra, so it got the thought in my head that it was a message to the team.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Quotezn Ah. The revered Dan Pizzuta. B) I wonder what better established, more widely respected analysts and commentators think. I was fearful the Niners would get Stafford. I won’t be happy if they get Watson, but the Rams just drove up the market with this move. It’s good that they moved first.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
The fact that Belichick and Shanahan were bidding on Stafford doesn’t move the needle in the Rams getting the better of this trade? Why would they attempt a trade if he’s not a special player? Belichick has Cam Newton? Shanahan has Jimmy G? I am pumped that the Rams got the coveted players other top tier coaches wanted.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
You keep saying McSnead is in love with themselves. If you want an example of a GM is love with himself, look to Bobby Beathard who was a pretty good GM early in his career at Washington, and had success when he went to San Diego, but at some point became enamored with his brilliance with his broken record trade away the 1st round pick for a high 2nd rounder and then pick a JAG. You’ve surmised the situation, Jim: confusion. And that might not seem like it puts us in a better vantage point, but in times of confusion, those who are on the offensive benefit the most. So, whoever is playing offense right now is in the driver’s seat. And I’m not guaranteeing that it’s McVay and Snead either. I have no clue. Normally this type of a situation is a mess, but I’m not convinced. The reason why is if it can be assessed as a mess, it’s self inflicted. But McSnead look coordinated on the messaging. It confuses me and probably everyone, but it doesn’t make sense as an unforced error, even though it looks like nothing but one. I watched TJ Rubley play great when he was the starting QB at Tulsa and they beat Marshall Faulk and the SDSU Aztecs at the Big A in whatever they used to call that college bowl game. My point being Rubley had the talent to make it in the league. He had the arm and legs and he basically won that game on his own and that was at a time when SDSU had great teams under Lugenbill. Always good insight, Leo. Thanks. McVay having played as an option QB in high school has had to have been chomping at the bit for the past four years with Goff. I’m not saying he’s going to run the ‘bone. But he’s clearly at a point where he doesn’t want his offense held back by pocket only passing.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, the player they paid big money to who are earning their paychecks—Donald and Ramsey—are not in the news. It’s on the players to live up to these contracts. If they can’t take them pressure, then give the money back. There are other players on the team who deserve a cut of that. But the NFL is stuck in the era of the salary cap, so what would make sense can’t make cents.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay has put forward a positive, productive culture and players have bought into. But a human is a human is a human. At some point, if you’ve tried all the positive, productive affirmation and it doesn’t bring about the result you want, you might just lose your compost. When it comes to that, sometimes the freshly dropped nuclear bomb doesn’t clean up too well. Just speculating.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not many are calling out Goff for calling Silver. That might have broken a management code and now management is returning that. Not sure what the advantage, but the whole situation is too opaque.by Ekern55 - RamsFootballFans.com
