Fisher tries to paint a happy face on everything. And especially on himself. Those two challenges were just awful. They weren't that close. And if what Fisher is saying is true, that he and he alone makes those decisions, then it's even worse. You have to have someone in your ear with another vantage point giving you some input. Saying that they could afford to lose those 2 timeouts isby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
He says things that to me is finger pointing including seeing 12 guys of Defense. He needs to play better. Period.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that Keenum is not noodle-arm. On the other hand, for whatever reason, his throws demonstrate little velocity. Never will you see a throw "on a rope". That said, I haven't seen a real limitation on the distance he can throw a ball. But he has to get his body into the throw for it to get to where he wants it; just watch when he's hurried and not in a good throwing position and uby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's see: Our over-his-head rookie OC who calls the plays, and who was the TE's coach until late last year (and we ALL know how wonderful our TEs have been over the last few years), is the running game co-ordinator as well. And the run game is non-existent even with a RB who is supposed to be on his way to the HOF. Hmmmmm.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Gurley is simply not making anyone miss. This isn't all on the oline. You're not going to get nice clean holes all the time.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The Emperor has no clothes. True. Our oline isn't run blocking very well. True. D's are stacking it up pretty good along the LOS. But Gurley isn't doing much either. He's making nobody miss. First tackler gets him most of the time. Good RBs have to make lemonade out of lemons. Gurley is not doing that. He needs to shut up, look in the mirror, and play better. Or is this who he really iby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm shocked that anyone is shocked over the Cards being heavy favorites. They are far more proficient offensively than the Rams. They got their rear ends kicked last week and will come out loaded for bear. They're at home. The Rams offense still looks like the sisters of mercy. C'mon. Why would anyone put money on the Rams if it wasn't at great odds? Not predicting who will win.....by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Josh Gordon.....total knucklehead, loser, pothead, come up with any label you want. He's been a troubled guy since college (and very likely before). You can't count on him to answer the phone let alone come and play football. This guy is going to wind up living under a bridge.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
If Hayes is gimpy, the smart move is to keep him out. Let him heal up. It's a long year. And that is usually Fisher's MO. Westbrooks has been coming on strong. And we have Longacre waiting in the wings. So we should be good there. I have little doubt that the "questionables" will play. And I'm crossing my fingers that we'll see both Cooper and Spruce get some looks.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a shame. But for some reason some guys just cannot stay on the field. I wanted this guy bad. Glad we didn't get him.....but ONLY because he can't stay healthy. Tremendous talent.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Surely he's just misunderstood. Or he wasn't breast fed. Or he doesn't know who is daddy is. Or he was bullied when he was 4. Or he got a 3rd place trophy in soccer and it has ruined his ego. Why else would any rational human do what he did, does, and keeps on doing? Yep, it's society. That's what it is. You, me, all of us....it's our fault. We, collectively, have failed him. I'm at a loss as to why when even if everything some say about addiction is true (and there's been lots of sympathetic excuses for why people do drugs, get addicted to drugs , steal, prostitute themselves, even kill for more drugs), is the fact that what they do is illegal to begin with. So they commit an illegal activity.....in fact they do it over and over again because addicts aren't one tby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The new "weed" is nothing like the weed of the 60's, 70's, even 80's. This stuff has been hybridized, is far more potent, and can be quite addicting in the same way that alcohol can be. I agree that in general it is not in the same class as Opiods or designer drugs, even Cocaine. But, yes, it does grab hold of people. And some are more easily addicted than others. But regardleby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
No disrespect intended. But I have never bought this idea that a person accidentally becomes a substance abuser. Or the rediculous idea that it is a "disease". Was it caused by bad genes, bacteria or virus? Heck no. It was caused by bad behavior. You have to use the substance.....a substance that is illegal and has to be purchased on the Black Market......in order to become addictedby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I've pointed this out before, but it is important to acknowledge: Goff is 21 years old. Wentz and Prescott are both 23 years old. It matters. At these younger ages, every year brings a level of physical brain development (I have a very close friend who is an expert on this), and of physical development. Goff needs to add some strength and weight. I saw him get knocked around pretty goby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
If you're going to decide that two guys spitting at each other is worth sitting for a week, then two guys fighting ought to be a couple of games. Sorry, can't go there. Simms was ejected, and will face a pretty stiff fine. End of story. Move on. Nobody said he was a rocket scientist. His job is to play football; and he does that pretty well.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It feels sometimes like we're playing D with 10 guys. The FS is nowhere to be found. I don't know if it by design, or if we just don't have good FS. If not, that and WR have to be our offseason priorities.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I love Arians. I'd take him over Fisher in a heartbeat. Teams go through rough spots. Zona is a really talented team. But they are long in the tooth in two places: WR and QB. I don't know if age is finally catching up to Palmer and Fitzgerald or if it has nothing to do with it. The keys for this game do NOT all lie in the defense. Yes, of course, the Dline needs to pressure the stationaryby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
One of the advantages of passing the ball downfield, and doing it fairly often, is because of the close way PI is being called in the passing era NFL. As former player/announcers regularly point out, it is very difficult for CBs and S's to keep their disciple when defending the pass, and it is nearly impossible for balls thrown slightly short or on back shoulder throws not to interfere if one hby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
In general, little to no push. In fairness, that is a stout Dline the Bucs have. But not terrible. They generally pass blocked pretty well. The one sack Keenum had was on him. He held the ball probably 5 or 6 seconds and could have thrown it away pretty easily (he was near a sideline).by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Rams hope to have a real shot at beating 'Zona, they're going to need EJ Gaines. The Cards have a bunch of good WRs and will often run 3 WR sets, so the Rams better hope Gaines is ready to go. I'm also hoping that Cooper and Spruce are ready. I think these guys can be difference makers. Who might sit? I think Marquez and Thomas. Neither are offense contributors. It is milliseconds between it being a completed takedown and a late hit. What I don't like is that first, Winston was still fighting to stay up....he was NOT down....and second Tree hit him shoulder to shoulder. I heard no whistle and no claim that the whistle had been blown thus ending the play. Yes, it was a tough hit. But hardly a cheap shot or a late hit. Isn't this what football is about?by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe it was a game against the Cards last year that Fisher inexplicably went for 2, and when it failed, it put the Rams in a bad spot. I don't recall if the Rams won or lost (I think they lost). I agree. It made no sense.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Great win. I agree with those who say that this is exactly the type of the game the Rams usually lose. Can't take away that the Rams finally scored some points. They showed great tenacity and it shouldn't be overlooked that this was in the EDT timezone, and it was a road game. And then the weather disruption. Bucs played hard, and Winston is everything I knew he'd be coming out. When he gaiby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the rule is that if kicked into the end zone, and the ball isn't touched by the receiving team, it is a dead ball. If it is touched by the receiving team, it is a live ball, however the receiving team can elect not to run it back and then it moves to the 25. If it falls short of the end zone, it is a live ball. It acts just like an onside kick; it can be recovered by the kicking teaby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Couldn't agree more. There is NO NFL RB that can't be stopped if the D keys on them and keeps everyone up close. The only way to stop that, is to have a credible passing game. I don't care who that involves: WRs, slots, TEs, even RBs. But if the D just flat doesn't believe your passing game will hurt them, but the running game can, guess what they're going to do? That Mannion can be an effective back-up ought to be well on it's way to being determined. Keenum is going to have to be paid in the $3.5 mil range per year. Mannion under $1 mil. Cap management says that the Rams probably ought to let Keenum go and have Mannion as the backup. None of this works anyway if Goff isn't the firm starter to begin next season (unimaginable he wouldn't be).by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
