I especially resonated with his comments about Morris’ soft D.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
First, great post, 93. Excellent perspective for some overreacting fans. My take? Rams coaches and players were overconfident and under prepared while an outstanding Bills team hit the ground at full speed. Rams won’t be overconfident and underprepared again like that probably all season long. I do have questions about Morris and his return to that soft zone scheme. Hopefully, he willby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJimYoungblood53 QuoteMamaRAMa But this is the guy a lot of folks think should be an NFL head coach with the next opportunity that comes along. He's a joke. Wants Cohen fired. Wanted Raheem fired. Does not understand the defenses, does not understand whose scheme it is and the theory behind it. And he posts in ALL CAPS? Like shouting will give him credibility. 3 agonizing outcomes from Buffalo stampeding over LA Rams by Donald Wilson Welp, the LA Rams have their first game of the 2022 NFL season in the record books. What did we learn? We discovered that the team must scramble to diagnose the answer to the question everyone is asking. What the hell just happened? Here’s CoachAllred… Just some random thoughts on our offense. We run to many empty and 4 wide sets for the talent we have on oline. TuTu is going to end up one the worst picks in McSnead era. He in no way fits our WR criteria. I personally would rather have Powell as WR3 than Skow and tutu. They played a lot of cover 2 type defense on Robinsons side of the field which I would thiby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com

Here’s Oldnotdead… Morris simply doesn't know how to use the talent he has. He plays favorites too often. Raheem keeps reverting to his conservative soft zone and IMO that is what Jalen was CORRECTLY criticizing. If you only play zones then OCs can game plan around it and it makes it way too easy. IMO that is why nobody wants Morris as a HC. He's got his homies then there is everyone else. Looby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s Oldnotdead… IT'S RAHEEM'S SOFT ZONE NOT RAMSEY. WE SAW THIS LAST YEAR OR HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN? THEY STARTED ROCHELL LAST YEAR BECAUSE LONG'S TECHNIQUE WHEN IN MAN COVERAGE SUCKS. iT WAS A SOFT QUARTERS OR COVER ZERO? WTF?? MORRIS HAS REGRESSED TO HIS ULTRA CONSERVATIVE WAYS. HE PLAYED LONG AND HILL BECAUSE THEY ARE HIS BUDDIES NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST. IF MORRIS IS GOING TO RETURNby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s Merlin… I never know what our safeties are doing without all22 so not sure. But my guess is that Scott had himself a solid game. They had Rapp back there with him on some of the plays at least, not exactly the best pairing IMO but maybe the snap totals will be enlightening for us there. Here’s Merlin… I've never seen him that bad. It's a concern for sure. He was BBQ'd out there. Two potential positives though are that he shouldn't have been on a @#$%& island vs Diggs in the first place. Those top receivers are going to eat his ass one on one. The days of him erasing any wideout are in the past for him and Raheem is responsible for proper usage of his corners schematicallyby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s OnceARam… Why on God's green earth would you take an elite man coverage CB and make him play zone/"star", negating the "Revis Island effect" he can have on a defense??? The Chargers would gladly give us a 1st and a 5th for him. Frankly, we keep him or Morris. It was apparent last year but it's glaringly obvious now. But maybe I was wrong. All preseason signs from McVay indicated intensity and focus on THIS season. And yet we all saw a humiliating crapfest last Thursday night. A game so one-sided that it seemed like imposters were wearing the horns. I am dumbfounded.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
EXCELLENT post, mt. And THIS is my favorite part… “ And this needs to be said: The Buffalo defense was that good. Leslie Frasier had a plan, and had his players prepared and motivated. They weren't playing "bend, don't break." They were playing BREAK. And the Rams broke. It seems to me that McVey, for all I admire about him, tries to fool 'em a little too often. QuoteRamstien Noterboom is made out of glass, I am about ready to see the Rams move on from him. Too harsh, Ramstein. I think Morris has gotten too cute with his scheming of Ramsey and that ‘star’ thing. At the very least the cohesion in our secondary has suffered. I would get back to basics until this secondary settles down. I’d put Ramsey on opponents best receiver and let chips fall where they may. Morris needs to have a ‘come-to-Jesus’ meeting with himself. In a hypothetical do-over, do you draft Creed Humphrey instead of Tutu Atwell? Relax, it’s a rhetorical question. My point? I love both McVay and Snead and they’re the best duo in the league, imo. However… Neither are perfect and both occasionally make mistakes. And pick #57 in the ‘21 draft is looking like a HUGE one. So forgive me when I occasionally criticize one of their decisionsby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s BC Ramfan… Execution was poor overall but I think I was most disappointed by the coaching. The O and D game plans were ineffective (after all summer to prepare) and IMO badly conceived. Running up the middle for no gain, how many times? Slow developing pass plays with the protection failing over and over. Soooooft zone giving up 4, 5, 6, 7 all night with no challenge. In no particular order… Fix the OL or we die. (Paraphrased from several movies). I’m beyond disappointed with Akers and KW. If Hendy is our #1 RB then somebody screwed up and Snead may have to fix it via trade or FA. This current RB situation is untenable. If Skow is our #3 WR then we’re in trouble.
