I just didn't see Ramsey as being worth what he was going to cost. I'm skeptical we have a workable CB room, especially if we hit an injury patch, but if as Jourdan posits - they see CBs as being speed bumps rather than stop signs, maybe this works. I believe we do have A plan, whether it is a good plan or not is up for question. But I also think that McVay and Shula earned the benefit of thby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Albany, I don't know if you consider yourself an "expert," but thank you for taking the time to interpret things for folks like me. I do think Cap Guru is a good title for you.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
So much of what we don't understand about how the Rams operate (why zero emphasis on offball linebacker, why we never throw to the TE) may be a result of our analytics analysis. Anyone know how much we invest in this?by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
We never connected directly. But in the first (really good!) year of her doing a Rams podcast, she had a tendency to try to express ideas with highly metaphorical language. Like she said something the Rams were doing was like "making a fist with one finger sticking out." In the comments, I used to tease her about "Jourdan's Tortured Metaphor of the Week" and before longby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
This storyline is SO TIRED. I am tired of retrying it. But I will keep doing it as long as the storyline that the Saints DESERVED to win and were jobbed by the refs. It is an insupportable case. Once again, here is why. 1. Yes, the PI could have and probably should have been called. And if it had been, then the Saints almost certainly would have won the game. I'm not arguing that, althouby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I suspect you meant Whittington when you said "Timmerman." Both were great OL for us though! :)by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
In their article on the top 32 safeties in the NFL, not one but two Rams and Kams made the list. Kam Kinchens at #22 Kam Curl at #26 These analyses have been interesting. In the 32 top centers, Shelton came in at 19. (Please don't look at #1.) In the top guards, Dotson was #8, although Avila was not listed. (Hope this is wrong. Dotson IS good, but I hope Avila really shows upby RantoulRam - Rams Chronicles
The raw athleticism is there, the skills are developed at a lot of levels, and he seems to have the instincts. It is exciting to imagine what he could develop into if he can be 20% better yet with continued strength work, and improvement in his technique.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know the rosters of the OTHER NFC west teams enough to comment on the accuracy of your placements. It does feel like it could be a BIT homerish. The most interesting part was that where you saw Rams players as the best at their positions was primarily on offense. This despite the fact that last year, it was too often our offense that underperformed and left us vulnerable. That saiby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
KW just seems to have a nose for the end zone. If its 3 and 2 at midfield, I don't trust him to get the hard yards. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But down at the goal line he just seems to have a different gear. It's like he can smell the end zone. Last year, it would drive me nuts when we would get close and then start passing and end up kicking a FG. He could easily have had 3-4 moreby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Raheem Morris is a good guy, and I am rooting for him to be another successful head coach from the McVay tree. (Sort of.) Even if it hurts our draft pick, I would love to see him finally bust out as a head coach. It might hurt us in the short run, but when you look at the success O'Connell and LaFleur have had, adding Raheem to that list does help us in attracting the best possible talent fby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com

"The book’s main shortcoming is its ambition. Mr. Silver tracks the careers not only of the principal coaches, but their fellow travelers too. The narrative dives deep into many different plot lines: draft and trade dramas, infighting over quarterbacks, the drinking problems of various coaches, and so on. Even with the time spent on Kyle Shanahan, the story seems to lack center. It must be sby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I picked up a book at my local library that a lot of you will love. Reading this book is helping me get through this extremely barren part of the NFL year post-draft, when Rams news and analysis is in such short supply. "The Why is Everything: A Story of Football, Rivalry, and Revolution" is written by Michael Silver. What you think of Silver is somewhat immaterial, in my opby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Because it means that McVay has our offense cooking. One of the strangest things about last year was that with the youth, and extreme lack of spending we had on defense, it was still our defense that won more games for us than our offense. Now part of that was the unusually bad injury luck we had early on with the OL. But even at our best last year, our offense was "pretty competent.&qby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com

Thanks - now I know my budget for imaginary shopping trip in free agent land. More than anything, I want to try and find us a spare OL or two who can be quality depth. I like our starting OL just fine, it is probably a solid B group, but we saw what happened last year when we lost a few starters to injury.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The draft is 250% better, at least, after reading our knowledgeable board members and preparing for it. I don't post a lot, but I read the board every day, and I appreciate those who post their thoughts and passions. Thanks to all who make this my first visit of the day on the internet.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
As we hit the really dead part of the NFL year, I'd like to window shop for some free agents who might add to our depth, primarily. Any idea what we have available for 2025?by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm watching the NFL draft center on NFL Network and I think it's pretty good. It's doing exactly what you're talking about.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Last year's 6th round got us: * our starting kicker * Jordan Whittington, likely a strong rotational WR this year * Beau Limmer, who held down Center for us respectably for most of the year Plus we got Omar Speights, likely one of our starting ILBs this year, after the 6th round. We have shown we can get value in those late picks.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Do we do it in the Game Time Forum? Or do we mostly just react to things here on this board? I generally do not have friends or family who pay as much attention to the draft as I do. So after anything interesting happens, I first have my own reaction to it, then I want to know what the well informed Rams superfans on this board think about it. Where is the first place to go? I'm afraid we are going to spend too much capital moving up or down for Warren or Loveland. I have gotten attached to our draft capital after the MANY good picks we have made in the last two years. I'd rather we moved down a bit, picked up a 3rd and got Taylor instead.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
That always seems to be the assumption behind mock drafts etc. Whitworth played at a high level well into his late 30's. Is it true that most OL fall off a cliff sometime? I'm good with drafting OL after what we saw early last year in terms of injuries. We need quality depth. But who knows, maybe Havs signs a 3-year extension after this year and continues to be a solid rock for our offby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I will have this on my phone during the draft. Between you and the other draft experts, I feel like I really know what to look for in the draft. THANK YOU for all the hard work.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I see the world Blinkscout - I immediately open it. Really enjoy your content. Hoping for another 5th round Puka Nacua value recever this year, but that is greedy.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Last year, I remember them being on top of Whittington and Speights, both players we ended up drafting and both of whom had performance that exceeded their draft position. Thats why I read our experts so closely. Last year, it almost seemed like the Rams FO did as well, given how they ended up drafting some of our experts' top sleepers.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't remember where it was posted, but a recent article analyzed the cost of drafting a RB in the first round. The basics are - if you take a player in the first round who in his SECOND contract would make $20+ million per year, you are saving $15 million per year of cap space assuming he makes about $5 million on his rookie contract. Look at Verse - we would easily pay $20+ million per yearby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
