Spot on! When McVay threw the ball on 3rd and short and missed, thereby, opening the door for the Whiner FG, I knew the level of his mistake. He should have been thinking about the fact that the Whiners would also receive the ball coming out of halftime. Can't do that stuff! Do we have it out of our system now? Yep, they have our attention alright. It's time to flip the script! War!by Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not surprised to hear media heads blaming Pete. But, let's get serious here. Russell Wilson is touted over and over as the best deep ball passer in the league. Really? Let me ask this. Can anyone tell me what percentage of his deep ball passes are off-script, outside the pocket? No doubt a majority of them. Why? Simple answer. Wilson? I don't think so. He is not a pocket passer, elite. He is an off schedule dude. When he is forced to play from the pocket, he is just average, at best.by Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I mean really a dual threat, with a truly elite arm and elite legs. Wilson has elite legs, but just a second baseman's arm, for instance. Like STLRams13 says, Steve Young was dual threat, but I mean playing in the league now. Mahomes stands alone, totally complete. Big arm, high IQ, can pick apart secondaries from the pocket. Allen looks like he might be the total package. I see no others in theby Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Pass first. Run when necessary. He is a true dual threat. Rare. How many are there, really? I mean guys who have an elite NFL arm and can run. Mahomes. Allen. Rodgers, once upon a time. Who else?by Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Plus the drop off in play by the OL in pass protection. It's not there like it was. But McVay has adjusted his balance of play calling. The run now sets up the pass to prevent teams from teeing of every single play. The OL needs to get fixed in the off season. They're old.by Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
As I re-watched the Dallas game, I took note of Goff's incompletions. He made about 3 bad passes the entire game. The rest of his incompletions were either mishandled by receivers or well defended. His completions were beautiful and precise, unlike the wobbly Dak Ducks. Yeah, he looks a little less comfortable, but all QBs do when they face the type of pressure he's faced the past 6 weeks. I have been saying for a long time that the NFL needs to evolve in its commitments to player safety. Cold weather endangers the health of players. We already have the troublesome issue of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (C.T.E.). Do we really need to add frostbite and other risks to it? Domes should be required by no later than 2030 throughout the NFL. The era of neanderthal football needs to coby Scottsdale_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
