Weddle left a bad impression on me. Seemed washed up when we had him and for some reason, I thought he bad mouthed the Rams in some way. He was definitely in my mind as someone I was glad to see go. Someone said that his last year with the Rams, when he sucked, he was playing injured so maybe a couple of years off and just playing in the post season will allow his strengths to show through?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't want them to got he expensive FA route again so a Trubisky or Lock "type" would work in that way. But both of those guys seem to have physical skills but lacking that upper level of mental acuity that separates top QB's. I'd much rather have a cerebral guy who's going to make good decisions. Between Goff and Stafford, I'm tired of QB's who make errors under pressure. I thiby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, he must provide something that teams like, I'm just finding it difficult to identify what it is. The more I look at his career the more it looks like he's just good at things other than coaching though. He was DB's coach in '07-'08 but that D was good for a long time before that and I'm not sure what credit he deserves for Ronde Barber and Philip Buchanan who were already long establishby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Just what does Raheem Morris bring as a coach? I have been asking this question since the Rams hired him. Even back then, I was puzzled by the move. I was fine with deferring to McSnead as he must have something that they like. But from what I've read about him, it's always about what positions he's attained more than what he brings as a coach. He doesn't seem to have a system or identitby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
With all the of the disappointment and angst going on, I think we should all take a step back and celebrate and be thankful for our great coach on the anniversary of hiring him. Overall, this is a golden time to be a Rams fan.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

And none of that answers my question, does it? You want to blame the players but Morris isn't getting the best out of THIS group, much less replicating or <gasp> improving on what they did last year. You act as if the Rams defense was some kind of all time roster last year that role players couldn't be replaced. If Morris just doesn't have enough to work with 2 all-pros, Floyd, Miller, eby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Is it really saying much that we lost our safeties? Maybe the next man up will help somehow? Stafford's mobility is pretty non-existent anyway. A toe won't make much difference. Jefferson re-entered the game so whatever hit he took wasn't serious. Rams are in good shape...if they re-group and get fired up. I'm not saying that will definitely happen but it's entirely within the realm of poby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't have to know what coaches do to know the end result. I'm not really sure what you are basing your opinions on. I mean, I know you like the stats but how can you watch the games and say that Morris is doing a good job? Was Ramsey scowling at him because he thought he was coaching well? Does a well coached defense give up an 88 yard drive to lose a game? Does a good defense give up 10+by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams aren't doomed. Rams crapped the bed the last game of the season. But, that has just as good of a chance to be a motivator for them. The silver lining is that we match up well with the Cardinals, especially with Hopkins and Watt out of the lineup. The seeding may have accidentally worked in our favor. In this silly season, who knows how the first round shakes out. Week 17 was a colossalby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I didn't coach but I played and have been in locker rooms. It isn't rocket science to coach but considering your condescending approach to posting on a message board, I imagine you may not be the authority on good coaching. But I also don't think that you have to have coached to identify and criticize a coach's results.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Have you ever been President? Does that prevent you from having an opinion about how one is performing?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
And I think you're being dishonest. How can you honestly say this defense is disciplined and aggressive? You just have a thing for Morris for some reason and refuse to acknowledge how much this defense has regressed under his watch.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
You obviously think that coaching doesn't mean anything but I think it does. Morris is, and has been terrible all year. Our defense is a paper champion that doesn't live up to it's rankings on the field when it counts.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd take Dallas, NYG, Saints...there are plenty of D's that are probably better than our defense. Which has been soft all year and I've criticized them for it all year. It wasn't just that one drive but that one drive encapsulates why those of us who have been critical of Morris have been saying so. That soft, passive, predictable defense is going to cost us. We are now in a position that Sby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm pretty sure Ramsey is now freelancing because he's sick of Morris' terrible approach. True, it's on him for getting himself out of position but ultimately, it's on Morris for the defense getting to that point. It is on him for cultivating this soft, passive, predictable, undisciplined defense.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not talking final season stats and rankings. I'm talking about that last drive in particular. The odds of SF driving down and getting a TD should have been ludicrous. Any decent defense would have snuffed them out and it wasn't a hard ask at all. 88 freakin' yards to go and they barely even offered any resistance. I don't care how many sacks on the year they had or how many interceptionsby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
The defense's shortcoming came long before that. It wasn't fatigue that kept the defense from stopping the 49ers from driving and getting a FG just before the half. It wasn't fatigue that caused the defense to fail to stop an 18 play drive to open the season. This has been an ongoing and recurring problem all year. It's because they play passive and that is due to coaching and approach. Thatby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think it's that simple. As frustrating and unnecessary as Stafford's turnovers are, the defense hasn't held up it's end of the bargain either. Reasonably speaking, taking the lead with just over a minute left should have been enough by Stafford and the offense. 3TD passing and a 4th quarter comeback by Stafford would have been preserved by just about any other playoff team's defense.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know what you're trying to show with those rankings. Do you think our defense is well coached? Disciplined? Shown improvement throughout the year? Is smart? Aggressive? Predictable? I think they are lacking in most, if not all of those areas and it's due to coaching. Morris has not gotten the most out of this group and in fact, I think he has retarded their progress. Sadly, Stafford is giving us the same problems that we had last year and honestly, for the team's sake, it's probably better to go with a rookie QB or get a guy still on his rookie deal. Both Goff and Stafford have struggled to not make critical errors in this offense and if we're stuck with 17+ turnovers from the QB, that can be had at a lot cheaper price. I was just talking to someone about this. We are set up to beat just about any team. Except the 49ers. It's just a bad matchup for us but we actually should have had them this time if we had not relaxed and gone conservative.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I wonder if Stafford is doing some of this? Not knowing where to go with his eyes? Kurt says looking off is over rated and QB's should instead be keying on the right reads. Instead of trying to manipulate defenders, let the defenders show you where to go with the ball. Knowing where you have a matchup advantage. Nature of the beast, I suppose. But I don't consider our argument over there anything more than conversation. You believe your points, I disagree and vice versa. Is that what you would say if Rams fans traveled well? I can hate another team's fans but still respect them. Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers...these fans support their team better than most other teams. That is to be respected. If the Rams aren't one of those teams, that means there is work to do, not make excuses for why the lack of support is somehow better.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
