I think I'm the last one: I guess I'll turn out the lights ...by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

The Rams have Cooper, Spruce, and Thomas plus McRoberts on the PS plus North on IR - all rookies this year - behind Britt & Quick (in addition to Austin & Marquez). Maybe the Rams acquired those 5 rookies in '16 in anticipation of Britt and/or Quick walking after the '16 season. (Seems possible knowing that it takes most WRs a year to develop, especially guys picked in the 4th & 6thby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm also attending the Jets game ... with my Ram-fan son and 3 of his Jets-fan friends. (I'll try to go easy on the Jets fans on the ride home ...)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Funny you should ask: I just copied this from PeoriaRa's post: MARCUS ROBERSON, Buffalo CB Played in 25 games with 6 starts for St. Louis Rams in 2014-15, but didn't survive first training camp in Los Angeles. Signed to Bills' practice squad following Rams release, and was promoted to active roster Week 8. Participated in 2 plays on special teams vs. New England.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I left Spruce out because he was a FA and your post was titled '2016 draft a bust?' so I thought you were talking about only the picks. In any case he's in the same boat as the late round WR picks. The best of the WRs in any draft typically take a while to develop; personally I would think a 4th or 6th round pick (or a UDFA) would take even longer ... and have only a slim chance on average to eby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the Rams will get a comp pick for Keenum when he moves on, maybe another for Britt if he signs elsewhere, too. Maybe a 3rd and a 5th?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams draft consisted of: 1st round: Jared Goff, QB 4th round: Tyler Higbee, TE 4th round, Pharoh Cooper, WR 6th round, Temarrick Hemingway, TE 6th round: Josh Forest, LB 6th round: Mike Thomas, WR My questions back to you: How much do 4th round picks typically contribute as rookies? What about 6th round picks? What about rookie WRs in general? I would love to see Goff play.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams cap hit for Goff in '17, '18, and '19: $6.3M, $7.6M, $8.9M Compare that to the Seahawks hit for Wilson the same three years: $18.8M, $21.7M, $23.2M ... or to the Colt's cost for Luck: $19.4M, $24.4M, $27.5M. Over the next 3 years the Rams will pay their QBs $40M to $50M less than SEA and IND. I just used those 2 as an example but could just as easily have used Brees or Flacco oby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
It is likely that the Rams will have all their picks next year except for their 1st ... plus a comp pick. The Rams traded a 1st and a 3rd from the 2017 draft to the Titans but if they get a 3rd round comp pick the Rams will ship that pick to the Titans and keep their own 3rd round pick. Seeing how the Rams lost both Janoris Jenkins and Rodney McCloud and only signed Coty Sensabaugh and Quintoby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Wouldn't it be nice if the refs had a 'thing' for Cam next week and left GRob alone for a change?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Could be that Goff is throwing the ball well, but still not up to speed calling protections, making pre-snap reads, audibling to the right play, and/or going thru progressions fast enough. (And I don't know if any of that is true - just trying to explain how 'looking good' in practice might not translate directly to 'ready to start'.)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

In 2015 Austin caught 52 passes for 473 yard and 5 TDs. Five of his receptions were for 20+ yards, two were for 40+, and 21 catches went for a 1st down. This season, in 7 games, he has 36 receptions for 299 yards, 2 TDs, three 20+ plays, one 40+ play, and 15 catches for a first down. Those numbers project to the following for 2016 if he keeps up the pace: 82 catches, 683 yards, 4 or 5 TDby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's pretty cool. If only you could catch a back-shoulder-fade against one-on-one coverage we'd be all set. :spintoungeby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
... and when Keenum signs his big FA contract it earns the Rams a 3rd round comp pick.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
"West Coast teams were 61-111 (a .355 winning percentage) since 2003 when playing in the Eastern time zone." So what is their record playing in the Central time zone and Mountain time zone? And what is their record as the visiting team against other West Coast teams? If those three percentages are also around .355 it kind of takes the wind out of that sail.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
No doubt. On the play I mentioned maybe Keenum was the one who messed up (doubt it) or perhaps Gurley just didn't get the call right because of crowd noise. But yes, I would like to see the players run the plays correctly at this point in the season.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. An occasional PI call that prevents a TD or an occasional hold if it keeps the QB from getting creamed are OK with me. But get rid of the false starts, delay of game, neutral zone infractions, offsides, encroachment, block in the back on kick returns, and all the unsportsmanlike conduct crap.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the play where Gurley ran right and Keenum turned left to hand off the ball was an audible. (Keenum tucked the ball away and headed up the field off left guard for a nice gain.) I saw lots of talking among Keenum, the WRs, the OL, and Gurley after they lined up but before the play was run. And I think Gurley didn't get the message and simply ran the wrong play.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not sure vision - or lack of it - was the problem on that play. He simply didn't run the play the way it was designed: if he just followed Brown like he was supposed to he'd have scoredby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams have played in London before and have travelled a lot this year: perhaps those experiences will help their focus for the Giants game.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams have a lot of late-round picks and UDFA's on their team: Snead gets credit for that in my book.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the Rams only promoted Fox because Quinn, Brockers, and Hayes were inactive. My guess is Fox makes his way back to the practice squad.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
