Many here loved Kupp pre-draft (Deadpool was all over him a couple years ago) and was most everyone's favorite Rams pick. Watkins and Kupp will be a great 1-2 punch! Woods should be a nice #3. Everett looks like he's going to be a big part of the offense at some point as well. So refreshing to finally have an offensive minded head coachby PaulButcher59 - RamsFootballFans.com
Being a monster in camp/practice isn't good enough. He needs to step up come game time. I don't see the game day confidence yet. The potential and ability is there, just hope he can reach it and sooner the better. He couldn't ask to be in a better position if he's looking for a successful NFL career. QuoteRamgator I think all the fumbles were a bit of a freakish fluke. But that O line needs some SERIOUS work. Fisher was never able to upgrade it consistently and left it the same way for McVay. Whitworth will be 36 years old in December. We must pray the old man can stay healthy or else the Rams and Goff are in deep trouble. It sure looks like they have learned from the 5 year Fisher disaster with full control/final say on personnel moves. You better learn from that nightmare! I just love that the Rams finally have a head coach that really seems to get offense and understands what he wants and needs to score points. I just hope he has the right QB. Quotelaram That wasn't. I told you Fisher didn't ask for "full control" That's what the discussion was between me and you. Since you cited zn's post, I guess you missed this one by him. As I understand it, "Full control" and "final say" are different things. "Final say" just refers to personnel---the draft, free agency, the roster. I am not sure oby PaulButcher59 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn Yes he asked for and got final say...and did so in a system that was in fact, when it came to drafting, going to act collaboratively. But there's no contradiction there. You can have a collaborative process where there's a guy with final say in his back pocket, because someone has to have it (the time the Rams actually worked by votes with Armey, Martz, and Zygmunt was a disaster.) Quotelaram QuoteStephen Ross in Miami refused to give him full control, with Jeff Ireland still their acting GM at the time. And it still gets cited incorrectly. Demoff kept Snead because Snead was handcuffed by Fisher and was unable to perform the role of GM. Fisher had full control and it was one of the big reasons he took the Rams job. Fisher failed the Rams offense miserably. He controlled ALL personnel moves for 5 years! What McVay has now is what Fisher left him, minus this past 2017 draft with no 1st round pick and a couple FA moves on the offense McVay/Snead/Demoff made. No question the Rams offense could certainly struggle this year and that would be with any new head coach. McVay deserves at least 2-3 years to tuby PaulButcher59 - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRampage2K- I think when you're picking a QB in the third round, you're not really looking for a starter, sometimes you luck out in a RW, but most of the time those guys are penciled in as career backups with a chance to develope. Quotetonyde Rams are desperately looking for depth behind Goff. Not sold on Mannion, continue to work out QBs. And Snead puts a lot of value into 3rd round picks. I have to wonder how much of that pick was on Snead? Me thinks a decent amount. Cannot blame every bad pick on Fisher. My favorite type of player. Love those small school, undrafted, overachieving, undersized LB`s and S`s full of energy and passion. These guys fire a whole team up and turn a non winning team to a winning team. Rams were fools to let him go! Of course he went on to be a 4X pro bowler with Washington, but I answered this based on him never being a pro bowler with the Rams.by PaulButcher59 - RamsFootballFans.com
However, the fact is he did look horrible last season and needs to show significant improvement this coming season, otherwise we would be foolish to have faith in him being the Rams long term answer at QB. Could Goff need 3-5 years of development? Possibly. Is he capable of hiring the correct people to make the Rams a winner is the big question. Trust me, Its not going to work the way it is now with Demoff running his whole show. Must bring in an Elway like figure and let Demoff do what he`s qualified to do.
