What a great #4. DL rotation is where it's at. Fresh legs. Westbrooks is no slouch either. Then there's FranklinMyers. Samson and one other load on the edge and boy, you got something! Gonna be fun. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
You gotta love the guy. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
What a smart, well spoken guy. Would love it if he stays a while. I know that will be tough. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting. The Dr sure sounds authoritative. Positive news on OL depth, which frankly has worried me. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
. . . to make the 53 that way? Agree, hate to lose either one. I was counting up and they both look like among the best 53 players. Lots of LBs in there too. OL doesn't look to have 9 amongst the best 53. Oops. 3 TEs either. . . . BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Brown isn't bad, good pounder/dragger, but . . . Davis in particular can be scary, which I like in a changeup RB. Reports on Kelly are good too, smaller cutback/strength guy. BUT, as mentioned, you have to pass block to play. I predict Kelly to PS, Davis #2 (has had a year to work on his passblocking), Brown #3. Nice to have a bruiser around just in case. It's fairly noticeable how some people do not get this. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yep, Goff gets hurt, it's season over. Mannion doesn't seem like the guy to carry the team. It's a lot of eggs in one basket. Whit's loss almost as painful. Saffold to LT? Then we have to hope HE holds up. Maybe Noteboom next year but doubtful he can hold the fort this year. No cap room, so I guess think the plan now is just hope they both hold up. Of course this is just speculation, wby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems to me that major pressure up the middle is gold. You can't run. The QB has no time, has to run for it, Edge guys clean up. Particularly Donald and Suh together. Sounds like a game wrecking combo to me. I am no expert but I find it hard to believe Wade thinks differently. The other thing is that any team wanting Donald has to pay picks AND a huge salary. Therefore his value/price toby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I for one have been hearing quacking sounds for while now . . . . BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I wonder about Mannion. Not a huge fan, want to see what Allen and Perez have. Really liked Justin Davis last year if he can fix the fumbling. Looked scary to me. Will be a battle. Don't see 7 WR. We have the 6. Hope Easely heals up, he would be a great #4 in the 4-2 Nickel. We do need backup at NT. Not sure about Lawler and Howard. Like Scales and Young. Hager will be hard to beat out. Wouldn't be surprised if McVay is scheming up a new secret weapon like he did for Kupp last year. Hard to argue with Ebukam or JJIII too. Should be a fun year! BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
No expert, but IMO the Rams would be crazy not to keep Easely, assuming he is good physically. DLs need depth (rotation) and when healthy he is their 4th best DL, "easily". :) Hopefully he's OK. Any indications to the contrary? BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Den, Interested in your take on the ILB situation. Lots of intriguing options there with different talents. Any observations/predictions to share? If so, thanks. BC PS You didn't mention Lawler re OLBs. Longshot?by BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Gotta love it. Shields as #4. Unreal. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Interesting reads, thanks for the effort. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I saw the Rams play in the Colosseum in 1950 or 51 too. I was 4 or 5. VanBrocklin, Crazylegs, Fears, Dan Towler and Tank Younger (what a team). Don't remember the opponent but do remember some long passes and VanB running around in the backfield like Tarkenton and taking some big sacks. Just one of the crowd, but it never wore off, really. I do miss the days before free agency when a team stayeby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
It's hard to believe we who know nothing have access to all this incredible info you provide. My thanks, to add to all the rest. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, please, all you have time and energy for. I'm sure most of us will all read it with interest. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. NEVER! BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Excellent point. Let's not forget Wade either, gotta be a big part of it. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree that players today know better (or should). It's gonna get called. But what if the hit knocks out a star for just a 15 yd penalty? That pays. Under the current concussion rules, a bad head to head almost guarantees to knock the guy out of the game. Why not emphasize targeting. Yes I know that's a judgment call, but IMO it was pretty clear in this case. He didn't even get a first warningby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Couldn't have said it better. Thanks. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
The Atlanta D flat out won the game. The pass rush was great (so was the Rams'), but their secondary was superb. They deserved to win. If they play that well from now on they will be very hard to beat. They also had an excellent game plan to stop Gurley. What, ONE screen that got snuffed. The Rams got outcoached on both sides of the ball this game. Still, the future looks very bright. Goodby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought at the time that some or all of his "bad misses" were actually legal throwaways as Goff's time ran out under pressure. His TD/Int ratio would hint that he may be under instructions to do just that when trapped in the pocket (instead of force a chancy throw). He is normally a lot more accurate than that. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
THAT's the kind of TE play we need and makes me think we can continue with him, Everett and Carrier. He made some some excellent blocks in that game too. Tough game, good win. BCby BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
To me it looks like he catches, takes a look at the coverage, usually does a "set-up" move to get the coverage going wrong and then carefully picks his way through, slashing when he needs too but under control. Kind of a Laveon Bell approach to punt returns. What a weapon. He sure made this game easier to win. Granted, complete team win. EVERYBODY looked good. D-Line looked GREAT.by BC Ramsfan - RamsFootballFans.com
