Agree that players today know better (or should). It's gonna get called.
But what if the hit knocks out a star for just a 15 yd penalty? That pays.
Under the current concussion rules, a bad head to head almost guarantees to knock the guy out of the game.
Why not emphasize targeting. Yes I know that's a judgment call, but IMO it was pretty clear in this case.
He didn't even get a first warning (2nd PF = ejection if warned I believe).
The NFL needs to clean up the refereeing problems. There are plenty, some fairly easy to solve IMO.
They've got a golden goose. They can afford to spend some effort and money on this.
