I would have taken Mitchell there but Verse was option 2 in my opinion. Beyond that Iby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Bowers was so good at Georgia but his size as an NFL TE concerns me. I think he'll be good but McVay just also has never really emphasized the TE spot. I think it would be to get Odunze.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Between Snead's connections with Atlanta and now Morris being there they have very friendly relationships there. And at that spot you would think they might be trying to leapfrog the Bears for Odunze. Just a theory....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm sure they are making calls to see what it would take to move up to various spots. There are guys they really like and if X player gets past X spot they want to know if a call could be worthwhile. Due diligence (for now).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I just would much prefer to a smaller trade back (3-5 spots) and to end up with 5 picks in the top 99 vs. still having 4 but not picking until #36. There is typically great value/talent in the early 2nd round but this draft is not as deep overall and they should try to add more in the top 3 rounds while packaging some of those day 3 picks to move up higher in rounds 4/5.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I really can't see them moving back that far. Maybe 3-6 spots at most. In that scenario the Rams would have 36, 40, 52 and 99 on Day 2.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The good thing is they made this decision in March not late July. Plus being in the system for a year at LG certainly helps- plus his college experience at center. And then layer on Stafford who can dictate things as needed while he develops his recognition & line calls, etc. And to Havenstein's point a veteran OL around him. He's in a good situation.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Imagine Earl Campbell behind the Rams 1978-1984 OLs.... Plus playing on grass vs. Astrodome turf/concrete perhaps a little longer.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Trading down a few spots and getting Newton is one of several very good scenarios for them.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm highly skeptical. But teams need 4 QBs to start camp so let him be one of them. Go from there day by day. $795k cap savings if released in August.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I watched a lot of UCLA football back then and thought he was going to be a good player. I also thought Jimmy Kennedy was "good value" in 2003...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The first guy I really liked in this Draft process (for the Rams) was DeJean. My favorite player in this Draft is Mitchell but seems so unlikely he'll get near 19. Just feels like when so many mocks project a guy to a specific team (i.e. Latu to the Rams) it typically doesn't happen.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree bleak is a strong word and they don't need to go DL in the 1st round. But it also could make sense if the draft falls a certain way given that (a) between Donald and Jonah Williams they have a void of 1,500+ snaps on the DL to fill and (b) Brown is a free agent next spring. If they do take Murphy or Newton I'd prefer it be after a trade back 3-5 spots to add another top 90 pick.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Love that kid. Went to my high school in Las Vegas so I've known about him for a while. And I could easily be wrong but I can't see trading up for him when they have a pretty good shot at Thomas at 19 and you're also talking about the great WR depth in this Draft.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I put his odds of playing in 2025 as 50/50. Depends on how this season goes and how he feels physically come next February. I would be shocked if he is still playing in 2026 though.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
This draft has less depth overall and the team is also just not in a place like a year ago (or like in, say, 2012) when they need "bodies." They need quality. I think (hope?) they want to end up with 5 selections in the top 99 and then also move out of some of those day 3 picks- either to move up from one of their spots in the 5th or just get that much higher. This doesn't feel likeby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Was there with about 12 college friends for my 40th birthday. Through a connection one of them had with StubHub we got upgraded to a luxury suite, access to the Owners Club for pregame, halftime and afterward (open bar, great food, incredible....). After the game we're all hanging out in there as some Cowboys' players and coaches file in. Very casual setting. I said F it and walked right up tby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone talks about 1975, 1983 and now 2023 as their top Draft classes but 1980 shouldn't be overlooked. 4 quality, long-term starters and several short term role players.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd prefer one of the top 3 Edge rushers at 19 too. I also hold out hope that Mitchell somehow slips to 19 because I'd take him there in a second. But a DT like Murphy or Newton, whether at 19 or after a trade back, certainly can't be dismissed. They have 1,500 snaps to backfill for between Donald and Williams leaving. The entire front 7 needs additional help- shorter and longer term. Edgby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
One of my personal favorite 1980s Rams. One of those good-not-great players on some very good Rams' defenses. Probably among the top...75 (or so?) players in Rams' history? But certainly, trading those picks to move up from 20 to 9 for him is....debatable.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not moving back in the 1st round without getting a top 99 pick back. And from a trade value standpoint that's what the Rams should get. In this scenario the Rams should get #88 back from GB, not 126. #91 at minimum.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They very well could draft a WR in the top three rounds who slots in as the WR4. But it would be more with an eye on someone who could have a much bigger role in 2025. Robinson is only on another one year deal and if Kupp has more injury issues they could move on from him then. So you're drafting a WR4 for 2024 but really more a WR3 for 2025 and beyond. Which is really how you're supposed toby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a good point. Hardly a premier player but not enough talk about needing to replace Williams (600 snaps last year), not just Donald, on the DL. That's why I don't dismiss at all the idea of taking Murphy or Newton. Ideally after a small move back but maybe that's greedy. Desjuan Johnson should take on a bigger role in 2024 too of course.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Use him on passing downs (at DE or DT). Rushing only. Get him out of the base defense at OLB...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
