I still think the key to curtailing concussions, CTE, etc., lies in the infallibility of the protective equipment. Defenders from the NFL down to practically Youth Football go for "kill shots" every chance they get (see: Burfict, etc.). That's what gets them on SportsCenter, etc., including whatever renegade videos the NFL chooses to "see no evil." They have no fear of layingby SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
...OK, OK, go ahead and shoot it down.... With Rex you win the news conference, for starters, with a franchise that's extremely dull but in a market where you've gotta be entertaining. Who knows what will happen with the Cardinals/Arians, no one in the saddle at SF, Carroll is Carroll at SEA, OK I get that. But with the Rams Rex isn't having to outcoach Belichick 2X/season. ...It's as though "Whoops, we forgot our helmets back home, we'll just use these ones tonight." And the Seahawks' scheme is no less bizarre or disjointed. Their regular helmet, without any neon green, on top of neon green from shoulder to shoetop. A really odd-looking game to watch!by SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
See, I thought he should've proved to be a "home run" hire as CEO for football with the Chiefs. *Owner who believes in chasing hard after championships, as does Bob Kraft. *Passionate fan base which wants to get behind a winner, as does the New England fan base. Chiefs might have the best fans in the NFL. *Learned alongside the best HC/czar of his generation, much as I hate to admby SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The only thing that will make this danger go away is: One day the NFLPA and the NCAA put restrictions on what a helmet "can do" upon impact... just as the PGA puts restrictions on what the golf ball can do. In the case of the NFLPA, it'd be the players protecting themselves, you'd think they'd want to protect "one of their own" from kill shots! Kill shots, kill shots anby SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteArizonaRamFan "It seems by week 4 half the O line will be injured or dead?" This just struck me as funny... Not intending gallows humor, rather something out of a Marx Brothers movie or maybe a Bugs Bunny cartoon, with the ambulance arriving and medics carrying off one Rams OLineman after another with X's for eyes. And it makes folks like me (in STL) stop and think twice about where our loyalties truly lie -- with the team or with the home city. I'll admit: I do retain more interest in how the Rams do than, say, the Chiefs (also from Missouri) or the Bears (also the Midwest). But you'll have to allow us STL fans, I hope, some twisted pleasure if the Rams falter this season... sour grapes directed notby SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Among the many things I don't understand about the NFL... You never see China moving its basketball/whatever games here. Soccer games from European teams moved here are "friendlies," which I take to mean merely exhibition matches, and here in STL at least they are wildly popular, sellouts to be sure. If the NFL believes it's so globally-popular, it ought to farm these Far East/by SSDRam - RamsFootballFans.com
