The Rams are starting 4th and 5th string players on the O line. That is an excuse if there ever was one for an offense to struggle. You cant have that many injuries to an Oline and hope to be good on Offense. That said the Rams block well enough at times and the play calling is awful, or the RB misses the hole or they drop and pass or the throw is no good...Its a mix of sucking but we all know where it starts and thats with the Oline and all the injuries and some questionable play calling and in game strategy by the HC.
The D has 3 HOF players and no injuries...why are they letting a team that cant do anything on O against anyone march down the field by playing the same lame ass off soft coverage....it kills them against the Niners and it cost them the game today. The coaching is awful, the game plan is awful and the adjustments are non existant. The D doesnt have injuries like the O has had and it has HOF players at each level and some decent talent surrounding those players....However the scheme, the coaching and the in game adjustments are god awful. How do you let that happen at the end of the game? Why is Kendricks moving over to cover Evans? The coaching leaves a ton to be desired.
The lack of preseason play is killing them this year, they dont look prepared, nor do they look ready to play. They are always late to the LOS and moving around like they dont know what to do right before the snap. The O is consistantly late to the LOS snapping the ball with 0 left on the clock letting the D line get off the ball on a sprint to the QB putting the Oline at an obvious disadvantage, but does the coach hurry up? Nope, does he ever go up tempo? Nope...Just wait late out of the huddle and snap the ball when the D knows you have to snap it. The Rams oline looks a step behind all the time becuase the other team gets a jump by knowing they have to snap it. The Rams never use cadence or get anyone to jump because they are always standing at the LOS and snapping the ball as zero shows on the play clock. Its a small thing but a larger thing when you take into account that its coaching and an obvious flaw that needs to be fixed yet never seems to be addressed.
Simply put the Rams stink, they are lousy on O..but injuries have really hurt them on that side of the ball....The D has no excuses for its failures...That game was there to be won today and yep the O didnt do its part but the team had the lead and the D was on the feild and it failed the Rams and cost them the game period.
