Why don't McVay and Goff do the early clock adjustment thing?

I know it was a little gimmicky but the early in the clock adjustments while McVay can still talk to Goff. I mean when Goff is struggling. Maybe hard on the ego but if necessary in the playoffs, I say dust it off.
