person in the world in understanding soccer. USA completely dominated the match... UNTIL... the last few minutes - maybe the last 5? Maybe all of stoppage time which was 9 minutes!
Iran completely took over... more dominating than the USA was the rest of the game... why? I don't get it. YES, the USA won, btw.
Here's all I can come up with... the USA went into soccer's version of the prevent defense... and it nearly cost them the game. Over and over and over and over and over and over again Iran threatened and the USA didn't seem able to even get it to midfield much less pose any threat themselves.
