Most, or at least a lot, of shark species are protected, so I would imagine charter dudes wouldn't want any part of hauling one in, even if the intent was to let it go.. and, the potential for injury would probably be high, so I imagine that factors in, as well..
Oh yeah, definitely.. lotta sharp toothed creatures swimming around.. Barracuda actually freak me out a bit more than sharks do, even though I see multiple barracuda on EVERY dive.. they're extremely curious and that bottom jaw jutting out with those teeth don't inspire a lot of trust in me - even though I've never had an issue with a barracuda..
Green Moray eels.. Honestly, I was never bothered by them.. I'd shove a camera in their face and film them all day.. until I got attacked by one.. he actually hit the camera while i wasn't filming.. shocked me how HARD he hit it.. pure muscle.. would have easily lost some fingers or even a hand.. In Belize, because they are trying to teach the barracuda to eat Lionfish, the morays are starting to get aggressive with divers, expecting a meal.. I did film one getting aggressive with my wife and he having to kick it away.. Same with me - had to kick one away..
All kinds of dangerous critters underwater.. Have never seen one, but Marlin or Sailfish would FREAK me out if I saw one.. Fast as lightning and will spear you before you even know they're there..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
