last night was the closest we'll be to Jupiter this cycle.... so that's 'done'... but yes Jupiter is still visible, not that much further away, and still quite bright and visible.

Last night settled my 'should I buy a new telescope?' query I've been posing to myself. Yes, I'm buying one. Meant too earlier this year but other expenses came up, (break downs), so I put it off.

Last night I had loaned my good binoculars to my daughter for her trip to Alaska a couple of months ago... she hadn't returned them. So I had two pair of 'broken' binoculars and a couple basically 'toy' monoculars that are worthless... thus, my viewing last night was horrible. NO MORE... new telescope coming!
