We have a burner that even on medium heat, will suddenly flare up to LUDICROUS heat. Just about vaporized my eggs this morning! That $^%$ stove is only 3 years old and it's a Kenmore. To be honest, it was not a top of the line so that's why I'm leaning towards replacing instead of repair. These days, it costs at least $80 for a repair guy to just step in the door.

What kind of stove is it?

Spiral. Thing is, I believe it's a sensor and not the burner.nm
